RE: Electric 1/4 Spitfire MK1A full composite

This plane is so awesome...making suggestions, I feel like Dan Akroyd in the movie, Blues Brothers, saying, "Needs a cigarette lighter..." after lighting my cigarette and throwing it out the window...

RE: Electric 1/4 Spitfire MK1A full composite

OK...so performance enhancements... let's see that solo prop converted to do constant velocity or variable pitch from your transmitter...that would be ultra cool.</p>

Stunning...absolutely stunning. Kudos to you all. TopGun won't know what hit 'em...well acutally maybe they will. Well you have a year to wait...what now?

While it's hard to imagine there's room...

RE: Electric 1/4 Spitfire MK1A full composite

Well...guys...thanks for keeping a glimmer of hope alive.

I will, of course, watch for the top gun results and look forward to more posts and pictures of the great work you're doing...both of...

RE: Electric 1/4 Spitfire MK1A full composite

Absolutely incredible...detail on that door and gunsight is surpassed only by David Glen's 1/5 scale model. And, of course, his is not a "flyer". So, all I can say is wow! Impressive.

And more...

RE: Electric 1/4 Spitfire MK1A full composite

I've been out of the loop...very glad to see that work continues. More importantly, jukka, I'm happy for your health report.

Tetsa, really sorry to hear about the solo prop. I was going to buy...

RE: Electric 1/4 Spitfire MK1A full composite

Has anyone heard more about the status of this model. Seems my earlier concerns have been confirmed - the link is cold no further information. The mysterious "ALI" has absconded with the plugs and...

RE: Electric 1/4 Spitfire MK1A full composite

Boys boys boys…Still you misunderstand me. But then, as Ralph Waldo Emerson said, “To be great is to be misunderstood.” He also said, “People only see what they are prepared to see.”...

RE: Electric 1/4 Spitfire MK1A full composite

I have enough patience to know that time will tell. I have enough sense to know that a 6,000+ euro transaction is not likely to be conducted over the internet in less than 24 hours. That a legitimate...

RE: Electric 1/4 Spitfire MK1A full composite

To All. Please don't missunderstand me. I have no hard feelings. I have been one of Jukka's biggest fans. Read thru the threads...I'm the one who first posted the suggestion to cast the exhaust...

RE: Electric 1/4 Spitfire MK1A full composite

In the interest of Truth and in the spirit of full disclosure, I'm sure we would all like to know who is the proud owner of the molds and for what price did they sell? This forum is a place to share...

RE: Electric 1/4 Spitfire MK1A full composite

Grumpy,

When you were talking about giving up before, I expressed interest in buying the plugs. The used molds would have a limited lifespan, and making a second mold from a second generation...

Tetsa/Jukka
Glad to see you boys back on the trail!

Regarding the stacks (and I'm sure this seems obvious), why not cast them in solid lead?

OK...I won't ask why you broke it in half...but couldn't you have at least used a saw? ;) Still, send me pics of the plugs in their current condition and a price for all in a...

RE: Electric 1/4 Spitfire MK1A full composite

Grumpster,

Glad all the well-wishers have renewed your spirit. But seriously, you need to name a price for the plugs to prove they're out of my price range! ;) Of course, if you won't let it go...

Grumpy,

I hope this is only the winter blues...Your spitfire project is still the most captivating thing on RCU. Slowed by weather was my understanding. I'm still hoping you will stay on this...

RE: Electric 1/4 Spitfire MK1A full composite

Tetsa and Grumpy,

Remember, this is a British plane. And seeing that I own and restored a 1952 MG TD roadster from the ground up...I know a thing or two about British engineering. Why should...

RE: Electric 1/4 Spitfire MK1A full composite

Tetsa,

I think you mean a bell crank. The real spitfire had two in the tail in a vertical orientation from an axle that was fixed to a former just infront of the tail plane. The bellcrank...

RE: Electric 1/4 Spitfire MK1A full composite

Grumpy and Tetsa, great looking work…I must have one. Grumpy, don’t run out of resin! Personally, if Grumpy doesn’t mind, I think it’s best to keep it all in one place. Finding threads is...
