RE: Whats a good tail servo to use with the GY240 Gyro?

The GY240 is an excellent gyro. I got one in one of my RC on-road nitro cars. Great for drifting...
My heli has a 401 though...

RE: Heat shrinking excess wires?

I agree that this is off topic but petro is just one of those topics that I just cannot keep quiet about :(

RE: Alternate mounting of gyro on TREX?

I have a Comet 500 (kinda like a TRex but just a bit larger) and my 401 sits on a neat little milled platform on top of the boom mount. I was thinking of moving it down inside the frame as there is...

RE: Heat shrinking excess wires?

What does OPEC have to do with it? They just sell the crude oil. The oil companies set the price of the gas at the pump.
When the price of crude rises, the gas companies raise the price at the...

RE: water proofing

All this reminds me of one of my first boats, way back in the 80's. It was a fast electric with vac formed hull in two parts. I built it with a lot of care and made sure all of the seals were...

RE: Heat shrinking excess wires?

I had the same thought but I was going to pop the case of my 401 and re-solder shortened wires to the board.
BTW, nothing wrong with wanting a neat bird. I always spend time making sure each RC...

CC 35A Heat sink ?

Just wondering if anyone feels adding a heat sink to a CC 35A ESC would make a big difference. I could scavange a small one from an old mother board and use thermal paste.

RE: water proofing

I have a liquid cooled PC and can tell you a TREX cannot lift the cooling components of my PC. I have copper cooling blocks for both the CPU and the GPU, a small pump/fluid tank and radiator. All...

RE: Holy crap this heli is expensive, is it worth it?

You are in Kitchener. $1600 seems a bit high but not all that much so for the Southern Ontario area.
If you get into the GTA area, there are a lot of good places to buy stuff. I like AJ's...

RE: water proofing

These are some good ideas but I don't think the motor can be protected. I think the downwash close to the ground would kick up a lot of moisture.
I use balloons for most of the electrics in all of...

RE: graphite and plastic toughness?

You can run a little CA glue on the edges of graphite parts that have raw edges. I use very thin stuff. It helps keep it from splitting.
If I can, I also use thin washers under screws to spread the...

RE: graphite and plastic toughness?

Aluminum looks good but I'd rather have a car that runs better.
Less "Bling" and more "Zing"
I like composites more as these parts tend flex more in crashes and are cheaper to replace.
Graphite...

RE: You have gotta check this out...

As an engineering project, that thing is cool.
Anyone who thinks that this thing is dumb, should consider what kind of RC car they would be driving if nobody tried anything new...

RE: Road Rail RC Car racing system

Some of the kids in my area used balls they bought at Walmart. They found some on sale that were about 10 or 12 inches and rather thick. They then sliced dome shaped sections from them.
If you...

RE: Help identifying this vintage RC axle

Are you sure about the date of 1975 ?
If that is accurate, then that predates the first Tamiya RC kit (number 58001, Porsche 934 Turbo) by a year.
It looks like there are two pinion size gears...

Has anyone tried using a heli brushless motor in a car?

RE: Using a Drill as a Starter

I use a 12v Black and Decker to start all my nitro cars. They have smaller engines but it works fine for me.
