RE: Official Hobby Zone

Yea, it's a bummer. Not my starter plane though. More of a anytime-anywhere airplane. I have flown a few trainers and foamie jets. I wanted to try something different. While it lasted it was great!...

RE: Official Hobby Zone

Thanks for the tips....BUT I totalled my plane last night!

Wing snapped off while going into a loop and the Cub rocketed into the ground from about 100 feet. Cowl/nose of the plane is smashed and...

RE: Official Hobby Zone

Anyone have suggestions for the best clearcoat? My yellow paint is leaving paint dust on everything it touches! Kinda looks like pollen all over my car's interior...not cool!

RE: Official Hobby Zone

OK, so here is my CUB finally painted and "decals" applied! I found a nut at Fleet Farm that now holds my prop on. Works just fine!

RE: Official Hobby Zone

While in the process of painting I lost the nut that holds on the propeller! Do the nuts come with the replacement prop shaft? Or would it be easier to find the nut at a local hardware store?

RE: Official Hobby Zone

It was from my LHS. He had two and was going to use them on a store display model, but when I asked for a battery with similar specs, this was the closest he had so he gave it to me cheaper...I...

RE: Official Hobby Zone

I just got a new battery this week...it's a Turnigy 2200mah 20-30C, 3 Cell. Got it locally for just under $30!!!

So, I tested it out today...man it rocks! Just a little extra oomph! 20 minute...

RE: Official Hobby Zone

Anyone know the max amperage that the stock ESC can handle? I recently bought a Turnigy lipo and now I realize it is a 20-30C not the stock 15-25C. Could this damage anything or is it safe to use?

RE: Official Hobby Zone

Hey all, I have recovered from my recent incident with a large tree and am back in the air. Does anyone know the highest amperage that can be pulled through the stock ESC without damage to the plane?...

RE: Official Hobby Zone

TwoSlick2...is it still acting up? Make sure that the ACT function is turned off on your transmitter...I have mine CA'ed to the off setting so I don't trip it accidentally. If it's still acting up...

RE: Official Hobby Zone

TwoSlick2 I had the same problem, all I had to do was unplug the ACT sensors from the ESC. After that I had the throttle starting at about 1/4 and actually staying at full throttle! (Amazing, huh?!) ...

RE: Official Hobby Zone

Ok, I was thinking there wasn't one. Too bad because I have a guy who was willing to train on a larger plane as long as I brought my own controller. Yea, my next step is to get a Futaba 7 or 8...

RE: Official Hobby Zone

Quick question...I don't have my plane with me now and I need to know if the stock transmitter has a trainer jack in it? If so, what kind is it? Thanks

RE: Official Hobby Zone

CMGvsMTB, you could try cutting two thin lines near the center of the wing where the dihedral starts...this way it takes pressure off of the wings from the bending effect. After you do that I...

RE: Official Hobby Zone

Haha...not quite willing to do that yet... I don't even have a dozen flights on it! Especially dangerous if it would backfire and pop some of the cell's in a LiPo. Definitely dangerous!

RE: Official Hobby Zone

Won't double voltage also fry the ESC? Also is there any chance that the burning might cause an actual fire in flight? Or will it just fry and stop working?

RE: Official Hobby Zone

Well, I got the first real damage to my Cub tonight...I was flying at dusk and misjudged the height of a 4' berm in front of the parking lot where I land at a sports complex. Needless to say my...

RE: Official Hobby Zone

Just out of curiosity...what is everyones heaviest setup on their Cub?

After I get my new parts this week, I'll be running around 2 lbs 3 oz. (hopefully that's not too heavy)

RE: Official Hobby Zone

Cool, I just got my Deans on, I have two batteries and an onboard volt/current meter on the way and a fuselage mod I thought might help along with a new landing gear setup. My cub is going to be a...

RE: Official Hobby Zone

Ok, CJG still trying to understand this....so a 1500mah, 10c battery is too powerful for the Cub, but a 1500, 15C or 20C would be much better...right? Or should the draw be purposely less than the...

RE: Official Hobby Zone

I have a battery question. Concerning LiPo's does the "C" rating mean current?

I know my stock battery is 15 with 20 burst. Can the stock ESC handle more than that?

Hese are two...
