Hi,

I took 1/2 degree from the top wing and left the tail at 3.5 degrees. On the maiden she needed 3 clicks of down but nothing else.
Handling is very neutral, however we had a lot of low fog...

Well, she flew today, Spot on for trim, straight and true first time. Now I can concentrate on the finer detailing in and aroung the cockpit area and apply the decals to the nose section.

I'd had the idea of using an epoxy resin thats normally used for wing skinning to fill the weave on the tex, or some wide aluminium speed tape burnished down to adopt the compound curves then...

As for the forward fuz, we plan to use very thin plasticard sprayed with matt black enamel then...

What scheme do you have in mind? It's nice to see individuality isn't it, it's just a shame I do not have the funds needed to purchase a real radial, one day maybe.

The black is just satin black solar tex, the only paint is the gold leaf. This way it keeps the weight down.
The full scale stearman I have chosen to copy is satin black anyway with gold paint.

The gold paint we are using is powdered 18 carat gold leaf suspended in clear laquer. With a satin tufkote fuel proofer on top. I've used one 10 meter roll of tex and about a meter of a second roll. ...

Can I join in, I too have the stearman kit in the build stage. I plan to use either my trusty OS twin and try to hide it as best I can, or go for broke and order the siedel radial from Weston-uk,...
