dude my entire tt01 is alu. (well almost)
the front hubs(uprights) from GPM are stronger than the tamiya parts.
the carbon shaft is lighter, thus spools faster.
most of the alu stuff doesnt...

and dont use PVC, it doesnt give alot of drift grip. use either ABS or if possible get PE (polyethyline) pipe

the foam tape with one side being sticky which you use to seal windows and doors against wind coming in.

team orions drift motors are the shiz, just make sure you fit them with the hand wound armature upgrades.

if you on a budget get a tamiya tz motor and mod it with bearings and slightly harder...

on a 2wd the teu101 might take a 19t but youll soon fry it. unofficially you can only run up to a 23t motor on the teu101.

dont water dip the 19, rather doa decent run in at 3 volt outside water and the car. untill the two d cells are flat.
then clean the com and reoil the bushes or bearings.

ok, rather buy the tamiya tt01R and a body of your choice. Then get a decent ESC straight of the bat.
For drift tyres, tamiya's SUCK!! the HPI Type-T is a great tyres to use, otherwise get some ABS...

The stock Johnson (silver can motor) will actually be fine for drifting on PVC/PE/ABS tyres as most johnson 2 holes can reach 18000-19000 revs if run-in correctly (water dipping).
