RE: P_51 Mustang crashes into crowds at Reno

After having seen it live from the grandstands, I must say that none of the videos gives a very complete picture. I've looked at all the videos on the internet and none of them, even when melded...

RE: P_51 Mustang crashes into crowds at Reno

Oberst, Doug Cronkhite is exactly correct in every thing he says here. From section B of the grandstands, I witnessed the whole thing from pitch up to impact. I'm no Bob Hoover, but I have been...

RE: P_51 Mustang crashes into crowds at Reno

I agree. I watched some of Feith's interviews and couldn't believe what I was hearing, considering his background.

RE: P_51 Mustang crashes into crowds at Reno

I witnessed this from the top row of the section B bleachers. It was a violent, uncommanded pitch up at a very high speed. I don't see how any human being could have gone through that initial pitch...

RE: Elan Has Arrived!

Hi Dave, I was there at the field this past friday when you and Jake were there. I think it was Friday anyway, the days run together sometimes. Anyhow, I share a crashpad apartment with a couple...

Thanks for sharing that! For the record, regarding the Corsair photos, you can't overdo corsairs. Never, never, no way.

RE: Greg Hahn... Did you "sell out" to Top Flite?

Some guys in plaid shirts and B-17 hats take this a little to seriously me thinks. Modeling is supposed to be fun.

RE: most "scale" 1/5 spitfire???

I'm glad I got my plans and wood for the Taylor Spit from Bob a year or two ago. Its going to be quite some time before I'm ready to do it justice, but at least I have it. Just looking at the...

RE: I really miss RCM

As a youngster my dad's RCMs had as much appeal to me as his Playboys. Well almost anyway. I miss RCM too.

There is a hobby shop here in Phoenix called Franks Hobbies and they have tons of old...

RE: Littlest Low Stick Build-A-Long

RE: Where have the builders gone?

LDM takes the prize as far as I see it, I could not agree more. I don't think LDMs lighthearted(but frighteningly accurate) description is in any way a cover for a supposed lack of ability. I fly...

I hear what you guys are saying, and its going in my dvd collection also. That said, I think some of you are missing my point as well, perhaps I haven't done to good a job of getting it across, oh...

RE: flyboys

Point taken, I agree for the most part. But when you truly love airplanes, like I do believe me, it hurts when it gets the Hollywood "Die Hard" treatment. But it is necessary to do that to some...

RE: flyboys

I wish there were more, though. I would gladly trade off most of that computer generated stuff for some real flying, even if that real flying by necessity would have been of the less "dramatic"...

RE: flyboys

I think the movie was a mixed bag, though I did enjoy it for the most part. The settings on the ground were really good, I think they invoked the feel of the time period very well. The aircraft...
