I see that they're now running the SC w/ 3wire std servos, and the receivers are std DSM2, so you're OK then. Just use a dab of hot glue to mount the servo.
I suggest that you apply a piece of tape...

Why not take the opportunity to change out the electronics with a couple of standard 3 wire HS55 servos, and a contemporary radio receiver.

You can used a dab of hot glue or silicone caulk to hold...

It's imperative that you completely understand how's and why's of your battery charger, and understanding the owners' manual is key. It's the only way to competently maintain these batteries safely....

The weight of a 3s 1800 or 2200mAh LiPo has no ill-effect with the plane's flight characteristics.

I would recommend running a 3s 1800/2200 mAh 20c (min rated) battery.
I only run the 1500 in it because I just happened to run another model, which I cra....ah, landed on it's prop and is in need...
