RE: TF 1/5 Scale P-51 ARF Assembly (1ST MISHAP!!!)

The Sierra blocks are not a patch but a replacement for the plastic ones that gives greater strength. Also the retract weight rating is for the model static weight not how much you bounce it on the...

RE: TF 1/5 Scale P-51 ARF Assembly (1ST MISHAP!!!)

My only concern would be with the cowl. If it is attached for one thrust line and then you change it might be an issue. Assuming the cowl is attached straight and you want to leave it that way then...

RE: TF 1/5 Scale P-51 ARF Assembly (1ST MISHAP!!!)

I just attached a drill template for the DA50 which will save a lot of time. Just align up the cross hairs and you have the location to drill to mount the engine

RE: Scale cockpit - Wow

I believe it is Bold Mufflers. I found a phone number but don't know if they are still in business.

RE: Scale cockpit - Wow

I agree with Joe in that the glow engines are messy. I'm using the Keleo exhaust with a DA50. Might want to consider putting in a gas engine instead of glow

RE: Scale cockpit - Wow

The main issue will be the fuel residual will get all over the airplane and require a lot of clean up after each flight. Other then that I have read where people have used that combination and did...

RE: TF 1/5 Scale P-51 ARF Assembly Thread

Well I went back in this thread and JoeEagle used this combination and from the picture which I've attached it fits. Maybe he can tell us how he did it.

RE: TF 1/5 Scale P-51 ARF Assembly Thread

Has anyone tried making a sliding canopy on this airplane? Saw an article in Model Airplane News and thinking about it.

RE: TF 1/5 Scale P-51 ARF Assembly Thread

I think I get it now. You attach one ball link to the door and the other to the strut on the retractable tail wheel. Remove the rubber bands and let the mechanism actuate the doors

RE: TF 1/5 Scale P-51 ARF Assembly Thread

Looks very nice but did I read that right the engine rpm is over 8000 rpm? Is DA okay with it running that fast?

RE: TF 1/5 Scale P-51 ARF Assembly Thread

Joe I used the same length standoffs and it put the spinner backplate at 7 1/2 inches from the firewall. The instructions call for 7 1/2 to 7 3/4 so you are actually as far back as they will let you...

RE: TF 1/5 Scale P-51 ARF Assembly Thread

RE: TF 1/5 Scale P-51 ARF Assembly Thread

Joe still would like to know if your Keleo exhaust and engine installation set up for installing the propeller directly to the engine or is offset to handle your gear reduction drive?

RE: TF 1/5 Scale P-51 ARF Assembly Thread
