RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

bmoreandy,

I wanted to try a sim too, but didn't want to spend around 200 bucks on it. So I just downloaded the "Flight model simulator" (FMS), which is freeware. There's also a site called (I...

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

I've been searching the internet quite a while now and I still didn't find pictures or plans for some kind of "delta kite" rc models. I don't know if this is precise enough, but here's what I'm...

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

Thanks for the info. A colleague at my company also just wrote me, that 35 MHz could make some problems. Any idea which company sells radios where you can replace the tx module, so that I could use a...

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

Urgent....
I'm currently back in Germany for a one week visit of my family and I found a nice 6 channel RC-Radio that I could use to retrofit the SC or build up a second model. Compared to US...

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

FlyVegas, I would really check the capacitors on the motor. Maybe you already read about it, but in my case the capacitors were loose and I thought it would be some kind of interference from...

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

I haven't been out lately to fly my SC, but I still want to get / make another electric powered plane that I could fly around the house. I'm looking into something really slow flying but really...

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

No, I don't store my SC like hanging on the wall, but it seems to be a good idea thinking of my daughter stepping on everything that is lying around. I don't think that it could damage the plane(s)....

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

I don't know if this was already posted, but I used the FMS flight simulator the last 2 days as it was raining all the time. I found a nice gamepad with 2 analog sticks that can be set up to make a...

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

Had a nice time flying this morning. Everything went really fine. The only thing that is not too good are still my landings (but at least I had no damage except some bent landing gear). The replaced...

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

After reading all the posts concerning the capacitors on the motor, I thought I should check mine. After my first real crash the housing of the motor was a little deformed just where the capacitors...

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

Hey, thanks for the tip. I guess I go with tape as I like that more (easier to get off again, I think).
I will take out the RX this evening to get some longer leads soldered on and maybe use some...

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

Hi Solar696,

I think you are right. But I had the !?? in my sentence. That should mean, that I think more of getting a second plane which I can fly wherever I want (which would likely be a...

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

Hmm. I guess with my ACT could something be wrong. I had the power outages and glitches with both, ACT on and off. But replacing the power connectors sounds really good. I think this could really...

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

Been out today although it was pretty windy. It seemed that sometimes the SC didn't really move forward with that wind (but just when I was above tree level). I had some good landings. Once I hit the...

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

I would say get the SC if you know how to use other (surface vehicles) RC-things. I'm not talking about the kids toys as those don't come with a proportional RC. But if you know how to drive RC...

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

Hey Shymot, I have no one around on my flying field either. But a HAM Radio can be pretty strong. So it doesn't need to be close to you to affect the SC. Talking about flying. When my SC glitches and...

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

Shymot,

So everything is ok with rudder and elevator when everything is turned on ? Hmmmm.
Did you fly with too much wind?
Maybe you have interference too (like I experienced several times)....

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

I just opened my transmitter and found a quarz with 13.5975 MHz (which is half of the rated frequency of the transmitter). Does anybody know if it would be sufficient to just exchange that with a...

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

If you need to to set the trim to the far left or right side, then you should get it back to neutral and adjust that thing at the end of the pushrod. If you turn that (I don't know in which...

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

patnchris,

did you completely change the RC-system to 72mgz (rx, tx, servos) or is there a way to modify the original system. Would be nice to hack the system and just get the frequecies right....

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

Hmmm. Just checked the connector. I didn't see anything green. I have two batterypacks and experienced this strange behaviour with each of those. My last 4 flights were actually pretty good. So I...

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

Anybody knows another "beginner" plane with a "real" RC (different frequency than the SC, at least 4 channels)? Would it be the same (from the point of flying) if I would go with ailerons but not to...

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

Went out this evening although we had some wind gusts. First take off was fine and flying was really fun. After a few minutes, the SC only went circles (again), rapidly loosed height and finally...

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

Cjg,
I don't think that there are radiostations near. I always had this behaviour since I turned off the ACT. I was thinking that this coul have an impact as soon as the battery goes low.
I...
