RE: SPORTWERKS chaos 1/16 buggy

Got some spring fever this weekend here in NY and I got out the chaos and was terrorizing my neighborhood. I just LOVE the way it sounds like a mini screaming F1 racer down the block! :D

I also...

RE: SPORTWERKS chaos 1/16 buggy

Hey Lug,

Good to hear the e chaos is holding up well with the new diffs! Sorry to hear about the charger issues though. That's why I consider it a blessing to get a good and easy stress-free...

RE: SPORTWERKS chaos 1/16 buggy

I ran my NB16 yesterday and it was running pretty good, but then suddenly it just fizzled to a stop while the engine was running wide open...went over and the spur gear had lost a tooth and the rest...

RE: SPORTWERKS chaos 1/16 buggy

Hey Lug,

Spacing the diff cases further apart was a great idea! Hope everything works out well! [sm=49_49.gif]

RE: SPORTWERKS chaos 1/16 buggy

5mph and all power to the front? Sounds like something in the rear is stripped or loose. I suggest filling the center diff with heavy grease (I used Team Associated 100K diff fluid) or locking it...

RE: SPORTWERKS chaos 1/16 buggy

Also the rear Vulcan diff assembly (with plastic gears) is on sale for $10. Again, you would have to see if it fits (mounts, links, pins and all)...don't assume it does. It looks close to me in...

RE: SPORTWERKS chaos 1/16 buggy

Hey, why don't you just ask the crazy Chaos-head who owns a NB16? (Moi.) :D

One of the first things I did when I got the NB16 was unmount the diff housings from the chassis to compare it vs....

RE: SPORTWERKS chaos 1/16 buggy

LOL!

Hey Vicdat, I actually like the "Clowny" body. :D

I remember years back working like crazy with 4 separate lexan paints and a clogging airbrush on my Traxxas Nitro Hawk body to make it...

RE: SPORTWERKS chaos 1/16 buggy

Well, I muddled over making a 2-speed Chaos again...trying to see if there is a way to make it work and it looks like it would be quite difficult. Too many things just don't fit the layout and would...

RE: SPORTWERKS chaos 1/16 buggy

Hey Lug,

What do you mean by driveshafts? The dog bones? Sorry to hear about the diffs aren't compatible...bummer!

Glad you guys like the truck body too! I have another one painted...

RE: SPORTWERKS chaos 1/16 buggy

Chaos TRUGGY! :D

I took one of my beater TLT bodies (Tamiya Tiny Little Truck/Rock Buster) and tried it on for size on the Chaos...not bad! I originally tried it with the body going all the way...

RE: SPORTWERKS chaos 1/16 buggy

Hey Vicdat,

Actually I did read through most of those 77 pages; however I'll have to admit that I got somewhat comatose through parts of it and also retention was low since I kept reading it in...

RE: SPORTWERKS chaos 1/16 buggy

Hey, I don't recall reading much on alternative tire choices for stock rims and it seems that the current tires won't last long given the softness and lack of tire inserts. Maybe the car usually...

RE: SPORTWERKS chaos 1/16 buggy

My "fix" is more of a homemade job and still in R&D (still trying to figure out how to make sure it doesn't spin off and drill itself into the diffcup [sm=50_50.gif]), so I doubt everyone would want...

RE: SPORTWERKS chaos 1/16 buggy

Well, I had a few more good runs with the Cheapos this weekend.

My in-laws were visiting and wanted to take the kids to a nearby park. I normally don't take my usual RCs there because it's...

RE: SPORTWERKS chaos 1/16 buggy

Hey Vicdat, out of curiousity, at what point would you consider a Chaos not new? I was estimating a quart through the mill (after break-in...sorry didn't mention that) and with a 1.3 oz tank, that's...

RE: SPORTWERKS chaos 1/16 buggy

Well, comparing the Chaos next to my 2-speed NB16, it will be a challenge to put in the 2spd tranny. So much is laid out differently and the 2-speed is much longer than the regular center diff. ...
