Byron recommends the nylon bolts on the Mustang for the very reason mentioned; to keep from damaging the wing on a bad landing. I haven't finished mine yet but I'll take a picture if you'd like.

You may want to try following the iron with a damp rag to help the Monokote adhere to the wood better. One trick I've used on ARF's is to put some tape "tabs" on the covering edges/perimeter and use...

Yes the Aerotech canopy and details will fit the TF Mustang and Thunderbolt. They used to say so on the website but I haven't been there in a while. Many use the canopy for the T'bolt as the TF kit...
