RE: Vanessa c.g. Rig: How to.

I could twist the plane and get it close. But my point is that this is not mentioned anywhere and can be easily overlooked. Going through some of the pics on this thread, you can see some show that...

RE: Vanessa c.g. Rig: How to.

I built one of these 2 days ago and was doing some testing. I got one of my planes that I've been flying for a while and I was getting weird readings. Then I realized something that I don't recall...

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

I won't comment on the interference/glitch issue, but I'll comment on this. If you're planning to replace radio stuff, I think you'll need to replace everything, except motor/gearbox and battery. I...

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

Solar covered everything, except if the pack will fit. My IB400 pack fits, but it's tight. The Elite 1500 seems to have a slightly bigger diameter than IB400. Difference is 0.25mm per cell, so around...

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

Since I'm still a noob (10-15 flights), I try to practice 2-4 landings each pack. Maybe I'm getting ahead of myself, but when I start to fly the whole pack without landing, I think I'll be very close...

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

That sucks! [:'(] They have new cells that are rated higher, cheaper and lighter! Awful timing!

In the end, flight time is becoming less important to me. Reality is I never fly an entire pack...

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

I can now give a better opinion on the IB400 8-cell custom made packs from cheapbatterypacks.com. After 3 flights, I hit voltage cut-off for the first time today (that was just when I was taking off...

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

I got my pack this weekend. After only two flights, I can't give a final report on flight time just yet. I had a 13min flight on the second charge. I didn't want to push harder cause it was a bit...

RE: Hobbico super cub rtf or Slo-v rtf?

Yeah, I was concerned about starting on this hobby at the worst time of the year. But in reality, you don't need to spend more than 10-15 minutes out in the cold. Plus, parks are empty, meaning less...

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

The climbing is good for noobs like me, but it can become a problem. Before flying it, I was always making mental notes that I would need to give some up elevator to make level turns. While that's...

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

I'm with you there. I had a big scare today! I thought I was going to lose my SC! This plane just wants to keep gaining altitude! It got to a point that I didn't know if it was coming or going ... I...

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

Cool. It doesn't look like IB cells, from the picture. Did you use the stock charger with this pack?

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

Had my maiden flight today, before work! What a rush! I'm more than hooked!

I had a 7-8 minute flight, ROG from a 1/2 basketball court (tried grass first and wheels wouldn't even move, probably...

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

That's what I'm trying to figure out. The lack of response tells me that few people tried them with this plane. And I'm guessing that people didn't know about them or don't want to risk with anything...

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

Haven't even flown it yet and I'm already looking into those 8 cell batteries.

I saw someone mentioning about custom 1400mah packs, but no user experiences so far.

I'd think that a 8-cell...

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

Cool! Noobs learn something new every day! I can only wonder how scratch builders calculate this kind of thing!

That's what I keep reading and it's the reason I got it! [8D] Maiden flight...

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

Noob here with a brand new Super Cub! Just got it today, watched the dvd, assembled the whole thing and was discharging the battery per manual instructions. That's when I noticed my prop seemed to be...
