RE: kool power and after run oil

I was going on information that was given to me by a few guys over in Europe. Guess I was given some funky information. Nonetheless, PAG oils are fine to use IMO, provided you use enough of it. ...

RE: kool power and after run oil

Yeah, the good ester based synthetics are European. I tried getting some Motul Micro until I saw the price. $80 a gallon plus shipping from one site, $75+ shipping at another. [X(]

RE: kool power and after run oil

Hazmat shipping fees are the main culprit. We've had high prices for several years. My car fuel is nearly $40 a gallon. To thwart the high cost of fuel, I mix my own. A gallon of 5% nitro 20%...

RE: kool power and after run oil

RE: kool power and after run oil

Timble - I'm in a freshwater environment thankfully. I've ran my other ringed engines on the same fuel blend with the 50/50 oil mixture in the same enironment and didn't have this happen. No rust...

RE: kool power and after run oil

The engine was made in the early 80's. 1983 roughly. It was run on full castor fuel from the time I got it. When the rusted ring happened, it had about 1.5 gallons of fuel through it. The 50/50...

RE: kool power and after run oil

I wasn't going to delve into this thread much, but I will share my experience with a rusted piston ring. I have two planes, but I am not ready to fly them yet as I'm awaiting further flight...

RE: kool power and after run oil

Klotz smells like bananas by itself. Mix it with gasoline and it stinks. Mix it with methanol and you have bananas that burn your nose. Hah. I wouldn't use banana oil for ARO though. PAG type oils...

RE: kool power and after run oil

+1 on ARO when using full-synthetic fuels like Cruel Power. The Polyalkylene Glycol oils absorb moisture, and they tend not to stick to metal for very long when not in use. This stuff breaks down...
