Drone props for 1/2A

I realise that I may be a bit late to the discussion, but has anyone tried any of the multitude of cheap plastic props available for electric drones on a Cox or Norvel engine? If there is already a...

RE: cox 049 will not start

Be a bit careful with the 30% heli fuel. Does it have any castor in the lube content? I'd be wary if it's 100% synthetic. But I don't want to hijack the thread into a castor vs synth discussion....

RE: Citabria 3 View

Right there, 2nd and 3rd posts. Print em out whatever scale you want and go from there.
Or do you mean the pilot that's gonna be flying the plane?

RE: Citabria 3 View

That Pilot 15-25 plan looks good. It would suit itself well to a lasercut cut.
I remember building a couple of these as peanut scale rubber powered ones back when I was a kid.

RE: Uncle Willies C-130 scratch build 65

Thats a pretty ambitious build, but I do hope you finish it.
You're probably going to get a lot of flak on here for even mentioning Uncle Willies. There's word of him being a pirate, and infringing...

RE: PDF

I use PDF Creator.
It's a matter of setting the scaling options in AutoCAD to 1:1, then in the PDF Creator options, set the scale at 100% or 'No Scaling'.

RE: what plane to build around OS.10 engine?

An Ugly Stick is always a good choice. I'm sure I've seen plans for a .10- .15 size somewhere. Box sheet fuselage and 36" span so the wing can be built in one piece.

RE: Smokin' servos

HS-55s have been around for a long time. I have half a dozen that I've had for about 12 years and they work fine. Back in the day, they were considered to be pretty good, and recommended by...

RE: Another Canard Takes flight

I like the stringer built fuselage. Don't see that much anymore.

RE: COX .09 HOP UPS

You can raise the compression a bit by sanding the sealing face of the glow head using some fine sandpaper on a flat surface. Be sure to keep the head flat and square to the threads.

RE: Bellcranks or flexible control rods?

I just love fiddling with a bellcrank setup and watching both ailerons move in opposite directions with one movement at the centre :D

RE: seaplane / weedeater help...

Given that a 40 engine is 6.5 cc, I think the weedeater engine is a massive overkill. I wouldn't put more than a 61 (10cc) on something like that, but that's just me.
I know that glow engines are...

RE: Any luck using gasketless sealants for R/C engines?

I've used red RTV hi temp sealant on leaky mufflers, both for the connection to the head and where the muffler comes apart in the middle. Its works well.
I used it on one muffler that kept...

RE: o.s 10. Am i in the right place? kit help.

A Herr kit is always a good choice. They build easily and everything fits perfectly. I built their J-3 Cub with a Norvel .061 a few years back. No ailerons on that either, but it didn't stop me from...

RE: AutoCAD Bold Text

Some AutoCAD fonts can't be made bold or italicised. These are what they call vector fonts and have a .shx suffix. These were originally designed for use with pen plotters and are often used now for...

RE: o.s 10. Am i in the right place? kit help.

A Sure Shark 15 would go very well with a .10. According to rainedave, its designer, it's fine for anything from .09 to .15. Build it light, and don't worry about a rudder, just glue it solid and use...
