RE: Does

Maybe you are flying to close to a black hole! Just kidding, but that does seem strange. Usualy the air close to the ground doesn't move around as freely as it does higher up,and I don't see where a...

RE: Spoilerons or Flaperons?

I still say rebuild the wing and install inboard flaps. I have around 100 hours of flight time in Cessna 150,152,172,and they all use flaps. A 152 Cessna with full down flaps can fly as slow as 40...

RE: Spoilerons or Flaperons?

Rebuild the wing and install inboard flaps as the full scale has.

RE: AOA and speed

What Tall Paul says is right on the money. Any light plane that I have flown ,that is the way things work. Once you get to the altitude you desire you level off and adjust your throttle and trim it...

RE: Why do people say the top of the wing causes the plane to fly?

I have always thought that the idea that the wing top shape is what keeps the plane in the air is something along the same lines as the argument that if a tree falls in the forest and no one is...

RE: Rotational spin speed and exit reliability - accuracy

From what I have read on the subject, there are some planes [there were]that if you spin to many times it does not want to come out of the spin. You may have a design or set up that has the tendency...

RE: Dihedral Question

It would be less responsive[as far as turns] to rudder input. If you remove all dihedral it would side slip with rudder unless you fed in aileron with your rudder.
That is the reason trainers have...

RE: Simple Kite Question

It is called lift. The same reason that an airplane goes up when you increase power and angle of attack. The kite is set up to do that.

RE: Are Flapperons ever a good idea?

I am of the opinion that inboard flaps and regular outboard ailerons are the way to go ,if you need flaps. I have an RCM Funster set up that way ,and believe me,it will come down steep and slow...

RE: Waco bipe CG have measurements

I could not seem to find any way of imbedding the drawing that I mentioned, but I have uploaded it to my profile. Click on my usser name in the box to the left and should come up as my picture.

RE: Waco bipe CG have measurements

Do you have the aug 08 issue of Model Aviation. ? If you do there is a drawing on pg. 103 that shows how to set your cg for a biplane. If you don't have this copy ,let me know and I will photocopy...

RE: WARPED FLAPS

I would try streaming it ,or boiling in water, then clamp it so as to take out the warp [plus a little more] and let it dry. If that don't work make a new one. You did not mention ,is this an arf,and...

RE: Why wont my Kaos spin right

Have you checked the wing for warpage, etc? Ailerons working equal, etc? By that I mean adjusted to the wing the same on both sides?

RE: What would be the "perfect trainer"?

Lets look at this this way. I am talking full scale now. If you were wanting to learn to fly full scale, would you choose a piper cub or would you go for a Cesna 180 with the hotest engine you could...

RE: Right and down trust

As to right thrust,it needs to be there to offset engine torque that at low air speeds where the wing is not at a good flying speed and can not do this on its own. So you put in right thrust. Have...

RE: Need help with landing speeds.

yes.I would say it is better to land a little hot ,than crash it,if you have the room to do so. Spend some time up higher and practice slow flight with it until you can get a feel just what it will...

RE: Do wrinkles in wing covering affect flight performance?

If it were me,I ,would try to heat the wrinkles out. If I could not do that,I would recover. It will by no means help your flight characteristics to leave them in there. It would still fly I think,I...

RE: Piper Cub instable flight at power

My two cents. Your wingspan says 1/4 scale. I am thinking you are over powered ,the scale prop would be 18 inch. Other than that seems that you must have some problem with the engine thrust line...

RE: Spoilerons or Flaperons?

After reading all the posts here ,I still say rearrange the wing a little and do outboard ailerons with inboard flaps on your big stick 60. As to other models I can not say .

RE: Question about rudder angles

Here is 2 cents. Being nose heavy could cause you some problems, aside from that I don't think rudder would have much to do with that. In a full scale airplane, one has to give it a certain amount of...

RE: Unstable flight

You don't by any chance have a bad servo,do you?
does it seem okay when you rev the engine on the ground? If that is okay you must have a warped wing.

RE: CG of a Bipe?

I think that there is a thread on this subject, but from what I remember of it is you add the two wingspan cords together and go from there. I would imagine that about 25% of that would be about...
