Looks like a good idea to me. It seems that there's a fixed gear version that doesn't have the full spats as shown in your photo. Need to do a little research. Don't know how the cg will be affected....

It depends on what the servo arm shaft is made of. The servos with plastic output shafts generally use a screw with sheet metal type threads. The ones with metal gears/shafts use machine screws....

I would like to see the pictures of the FMS retract installation. Sure can't beat the price. Apparently they just plug in to the receiver so you don't need anything else except the struts and wheels....
