RE: HOVERING! I've lost all hope...CAN IT BE DONE, OR NOT?

RE: how to get over my fear

(1) make sure your real heli flies the same as your sim
(2) just ignore the fear. Just do the well-trained figure as on the sim.
(3) Stop when the body shakes get too heavy or when something else...

RE: New heli pilot looking for great bird

Even if money no object then I would go for a cheap 50 size.
Cheap makes you fly easier. 50 size is much less impressive than the 90's, money can repair your heli but not your body ;)

RE: Please help.....wife losing patients

any leak will cause engine tuning problems and hot runs.
But usually a first hot run will not cause a major engine breakdown. And melted pistons are really very weird. Please post a photo of these...

RE: ducted fans

Some toy electrics have a protective ring around the rotor(s). Even seen one with a scroll text on that ring. Does that count?

RE: Flying in overcast/rainy weather

Make sure no water can get into any electronics (both in heli and in transmitter). You might be surprised how much water can get into the canopy with just flying around, not to mention backwards...

RE: Reflex XTR question

Assuming you have no stereo setup, depth always remains a problem when looking straight into the sky. When you are close to the ground you also have the shadow. The texture of the grass etc also...

RE: clutch clearance

clutch should have 0.1mm all around.
Mainshaft should be absolutely straight. Well, maybe 0.01mm or so is the manufacturing tolerance.

RE: clutch

It's hard to judge whether it's OK from merely putting the clutch into the clutchbell. Alignment is VERY critical. Just measure it up and you should be fine. You can sand the liner lightly if you...

RE: clutch

"paper" has no clear thickness. Better get a good probe or measure the thickness of your paper (pile up sheets of it until you have a good measurable thickness). Spacing should be 0.1mm all around

RE: who youses the carbon frame brase on the rap50

I just tried it and I FELT that it made difference. But not enough to warrant breaking bolts.
