RE: Raptor 50 Titan Discussion

Thanks Guys,
I will stick with the woodies for the time being until I get a bit more confident in my flying ability.
It is very hard to resist putting on the new CF blades though!!

RE: Raptor 50 Titan Discussion

Guys,
I have just got myself a set of Carbon Tech Fun-Key H 6022C blades and was wondering if there is a marked difference in performance between the carbon fibre and wooden blades?
As a Noob...

RE: Raptor 50 Titan Discussion

Guys,
Just downloaded and watched the IRCHA 2007 video, excellent viewing if anyone is interested. No Raptor Titans but there were a few Raptor 90s etc. and the TRex 450 race is a classic.
I also...

RE: Raptor 50 Titan Discussion

Thanks for the tips guys.
I actually had the muffler off in the photo, hence the missing bolt. I also read some good information on Raptor technique about ensuring the low and high idle match so...

RE: Raptor 50 Titan Discussion

From what you guys are saying the problem is most likely a lack of fuel rather than too much? Is there any easy way to tell?
I was assuming that when the engine started to run rough and drop rpms...

RE: Raptor 50 Titan Discussion

Guys,
I am having some major issues with getting my OS 50 to run and it is getting quite frustrating!!
The motor will start fine and idle quite happily but once you apply any throttle the engine...

RE: Raptor 50 Titan Discussion

Guys,
Mounted the battery checker on frame just above fuel tank. Works quite well. You can still see the lights, (mid afternoon), from about 12 feet.

Mark

RE: Raptor 50 Titan Discussion

Re-tuned my OS50 today. I am using Extreme Blendz 15% fuel and have got it running quite smooth in idle and blowing nice smoke in a hover. Does not appear as much smoke as shown by text, but any...

RE: Raptor 50 Titan Discussion

Thanks []TEX[],
I found a good artical on the "arcHELI" forums about tuning the OS50 so I will start from there. I can also hopefully borrow a laser heat gun thermometer thingy from work to take...

RE: Raptor 50 Titan Discussion

Yes I think you are right!
I had one of the guys from my club tune it for me and he may have gone overboard a bit (he had not done an OS 50 before). I have only put one tank of fuel through it...

RE: Raptor 50 Titan Discussion

Guys,
How long should an "08" Glow Plug last?
Is their life dependent on how rich/lean you are running your engine and what type of fuel? Or are there other factors.
I would be interested to...

RE: Raptor 50 Titan Discussion

Guys,
Just completed my first flight without training gear. Except for the initial tendency to travel backwards all went well.
Attached is my latest canopy paint job.

Did you get my PM? I am still interested in what training videos you would recommend.

RE: Raptor 50 Titan Discussion

Guys,
Can anyone recommend any good training videos etc. And are the videos tailored to the mode of flying i.e. mode1 / mode2 or is that irrelevant.
I currently fly mode 1 and are looking to...

RE: Raptor 50 Titan Discussion

Yes I know, but I think the saliva does reduce the Loctite curing time and it is surprising how much torque you can apply to bolts with your teeth.

RE: Raptor 50 Titan Discussion

Soop7667,
I try to use Loctite 7471 primer most of the time, but it is pretty nasty stuff though, I had the taste of it in my mouth for a day after using it. Highly recommend using in a well...

RE: Raptor 50 Titan Discussion

Jay,
Thanks for the tip, I might try the hula hoop method. I guessing it is a bit of a trade off. If you use the carbon rod and ball one you get a bit of flex which will cushion a hard landing,...

RE: Raptor 50 Titan Discussion

Thanks Guys,
I modified the pitch curve, as Tomcat suggested, but when I went to start her up for another flight the fan had spun on the motor shaft and locked up the clutch. Spent last night...

RE: Raptor 50 Titan Discussion

Looks pretty sweet and at $12 is a bargain!! The cheapest I have seen on EBay is around AU$60.00 for a white one. I have just given mine a coat of Fascoat clear to prevent the fuel from reacting...

RE: Raptor 50 Titan Discussion

The amount of time, effort and $ in trying to get the paint to stick etc. it probably would of been earier to just buy the fibreglass one.
I also have a pair of carbon fibre fin but the fluro...

Hi guys,
Maiden flight today with my raptor 50. Spent about 15 minutes mechanically adjusting the rudder servo to stop a bit of left drift but apart from that all went smoothly.
I was only able...
