RE: Shun Da Piper Cub J3

The battery should not get that hot, if it could burn you. IF so, you are over propped, but a trip to the LHS will fix that. :)

Looks great! Are you going to spray paint it or anything? How does it balance? What kind of prop is on that?

RE: Shun Da Piper Cub J3

Just a quick note, but the Cubs I have both came with 7" props, but they were very flimsy. The APC 7x4 was much better even though it was the same size :)

RE: Shun Da Piper Cub J3

Let us know, I've look at that cam before, but had forgotten all about it. I bet there is some setting you can adjust to not make it so green. Either way, if you can adjust it afterwards I guess it...

RE: Shun Da Piper Cub J3

Ahhh back from vacation :)

Enric, vega is right, you should just turn off the auto focus. Anything past 15 feet or so is usually at infinity focus anyway.

RE: Shun Da Piper Cub J3

My father got one stuck at about 60 feet up one day. I am a ham radio guy, and have put up a lot of antennas with the sling shot/pull up rope/ then pull up antenna trick. So I did that, after a...

RE: Shun Da Piper Cub J3

Hoping to get some flights in this afternoon with my brushless cub :)

What type of motor are you needing to mount a prop on? Most of the threaded ones are 3mm, most hobby shops and places that...

RE: Shun Da Piper Cub J3

Ok you lost me, or maybe I lost you ;)

The motor sits in a plastic tray that is screwed to the plastic motor wall or whatever it can be called. Put washers as spacers to cant it in any...

RE: Shun Da Piper Cub J3

You can try using a washer or two between the mount and the motor firewall to cant it back to the right. Putting washers on both top screws would cant it down if you needed too.

RE: Shun Da Piper Cub J3

The prop looks to be on correctly to me, but you definitely need to have the motor canted to the right, not the left. It has to go to the right a few degrees to cancel out the torque that makes the...

RE: Shun Da Piper Cub J3

I agree, that was weird, it certainly had the speed, just no torque? Video could be deceiving though.

RE: Shun Da Piper Cub J3

Hi Vega,

I am glad you finally found your problem. I was thinking about it on and off today, trying to think of a reason you are having such a odd problem. Goes to show you the simplest things...

RE: Shun Da Piper Cub J3

The Harbor Freight Cub is the Shun Da cub.

The cub can do any type of aerobatics a rudder and elevator plane can do. You just can't roll.

RE: Shun Da Piper Cub J3

Try switching around the wires, the colors usually mean nothing, a lot of motors and controllers only have black wires on the motor side. It is possible to have it push, pull, or not work at all.

RE: Shun Da Piper Cub J3

Arg, I just remembered the shun da TX does not have a trim pot on the throttle channel.

RE: Shun Da Piper Cub J3

Try using full throttle, with the trim all the way up. Sometimes the futaba like TXs have trouble with some BL escs.
