RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread

My MT2 has been out of action for two weeks. I was in the initial stages of my new engine break-in (O.S .18 CV-RX) with my new diffs when the drive just jammed.

Fearing that my diffs have messed...

RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread

Gear meshing can be a nightmare sometimes. I've recently bought an O.S .18 CV-RX engine and that simply didn't fit, so the meshing was all over the shop. Other people who use this forum say that they...

RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread

Haven't posted here in a few days, but that's mostly because I've been messing about with my new O.S .18 CV RX engine. The run-in (off ground) went very smoothly in comparison to the nightmare time I...

RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread

South Wales.

The rain shows no signs of stopping. Typical, really. I've been off work all week and the weather has been very nice. Now, when I've finished putting together the car, the rain...

RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread

I'm feeling a bit gutted today. Last night I finally finished installing my new O.S .18 CV-RX but today we've got some severe downpoor. So, no run-in. Oh well, it'll have to wait.

RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread

I wish I had it as easy as you! The engine mounts and the holes drilled into the chassis by HPI do not correspond with eachother when I find a good mesh with the clutch bell and the spur gear....

RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread

And my final question of the night (phew!) - Okay, so the racing clutch - Is it meant to be cut into two seperate pieces? The HPI racing clutch that I've got, straight out of the packet has a cut...

RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread

Okay, what I've done is this - I've placed a smaller washer between the flywheel and the bolt. The diameter of the washer I have used is such that it doesn't make contact with the clutch, but it...

RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread

Thanks a lot. I don't have another one of those washers, but I think I have a similar washer so I'll give that a go.

The car is almost complete, but just a few things to fiddle with.

RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread

Thanks a lot, man. Much appreciated.

I've hit the part of the job that I have not been looking forward to - Attaching the racing clutch. For now I'm not going to cut the clutch as it says you...

RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread

Got a technical question for those who own a O.S .18 CV-RX engine.

Brand new O.S engine...

I've taken all the parts off the T-15 engine, flywheel etc.

Out of the box the O.S engine...

RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread

Hmm...I'm not sure of the exact problem, but I'll give you a tip - Make sure you haven't accidentally flipped one of the switches on your transmitter that reads either "ST" or the other switch that...

RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread

Woo-hoo, my tuned exhaust got shipped from Tower Hobbies today. I live in the UK, so if anyone from the UK has ordered from Tower, how long does it usually take? A week?

RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread

Thanks for the info, guys. I'll see what goes.

The pot gear is on the table in the photo because I'm only just replacing them with the hard diffs. I'm not putting it back in!

RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread

Forgive my greasy nails!

Okay, so here's the small gear. According to djheptic's diagram, one shim should go where you see it here, so that it sits against the bearing. But, the hard diff gear...

I tried to shim the small gear, but the shims are bigger in diameter than the small gear so I...

Hey people.

I've dismantled and cleaned my MT2, and I am slowly putting it back together in preparation for the almighty O.S .18 CV-RX.
I bought the hard diffs a while back and have just put...

RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread

I'm slightly curious - Why do you like roto start? I see absolutely nothing positive about it.

I used to have a roto-start when I bought the basic MT2 RTR, but I got rid of that within a month...

RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread

This is true, but that's part of a forum such as this. Infact, I'd hazard a guess that there's more questions asked than any form of discussion.

Besides, that's what the quote tab is for. This...
