RE: OS GT33 33cc gasser

WHat have you done to try to figure this out on your own or with other club members who run gas model engines?

Is this your first gas model engine?

Are you running with the cowl on or off?...

RE: OS GT33 33cc gasser

Glad to hear you checked and set it. It should behave much better @ 27-28 degrees.

RE: OS GT33 33cc gasser

Very good point! Tower/OS needs to rethink the parts pricing....but they won't.

RE: OS GT33 33cc gasser

Matt, You are at a slightly different elevation, running a different prop and tuned pipe. Your needle settings will be different than running the stock muffler. If for some reason your tuned pipe...

RE: OS GT33 33cc gasser

I wonder if you tried to start it backwards would it run correctly?

What is the ignition timing set at on this engine? Is the pickup location adjustable?

RE: OS GT33 33cc gasser

Nothing wrong with APC prop. Some may be slower to spool up than carbon or wood but they have very good airfoils and many times far superior performance over wood.

They do need to correct the...

RE: OS GT33 33cc gasser

Wow,

Hobby services must have changed in the past few years. Never had a problem with them nor has my friend. As far as starting backwards, it doesn't happen if you simply open the throttle a...

RE: OS GT33 33cc gasser

Direct from the Tower site:

"Ignition Battery: 4.8-6.0V NiCd or NiMH, 6.6V LiFe or 7.4V LiPo pack
LiPo battery requires voltage regulator"

Do not run a LiPo without a...

RE: OS GT33 33cc gasser

Greg,

OS is not one of his sponsors, 3DHS, DA and Futaba yes. I don't think he's exaggerating about performance. He did say he had only two flights on it and it was obviously running well.

RE: OS GT33 33cc gasser

I don't care what the external parts of an engine look like, it could look like a turd for all I care. I want quality, properly selected materials machined to proper tolerances which I know OS are...

RE: OS GT33 33cc gasser

I see you used to have a SAP180 mounted there. Let us know the all up weight of the electric system and how many flights you get on the batteries before you notice a reduction in performance.

Most companies, including DA will not give...

RE: OS GT33 33cc gasser

Search You Tube for the Mintor 33. A guy from NY posted a You Tube video of his son flying last week. Engine ran perfect, no pipes.

BTW, the Mintor 38 weighs 10 grams more than the OS 33 and...
