Ya 18 tooth should work, only thing on the gearing is that the gears are narrower on the Hurricane clutch bell, but it should still work.

HPI steel tooth clutch bells, You can use anywhere from 18 tooth to I believe 13 tooth( never tried one that small fly wheel might rub on something)

less teeth on the spur=more top speed, less...
