RE: Raptor 50 Titan Discussion

Try moving your glow plug to a different bolt, or find a way to bolt it directly to the engine. Sometimes the painted bolt doesn't want to conduct very well.

RE: Raptor 50 Titan Discussion

No water is going to get sprayed on the heli unless you dip a blade into it. They told you that you have to use them on calm bodies of water, this would more than likely be a small lake, pond, or...

RE: Raptor 50 Titan Discussion

I see a problem in your picture. I dont know if this is a contributing factor or not, but you are missing the bottom exhaust bolt.

RE: Raptor 50 Titan Discussion

He says that he lost radio control. But this could have happened if the battery came unplugged. It also could have appeared to lose radio control if the gyro reset itself, causing the heli to spin...

RE: Raptor 50 Titan Discussion

Nitro heli's are full of bearings, and other metal on metal parts. While outside interference is a problem, the heli itself can make interference(clutch, oneway bearings on mainshaft, and so on)....

RE: Raptor 50 Titan Discussion

Well, you can find good deals on them everywhere. On ebay, they have a good used radio (only used twice) for $175 right now with the buy it now option. The AR7000 receiver should be about $100 new....

RE: Raptor 50 Titan Discussion

You'll need at least a 6ch. radio that has heli program in it. The better radio you buy now will save you from having to buy another later (throwing money away on the first radio you bought). Also,...

RE: Raptor 50 Titan Discussion

Stickers will stick the best to the clear coat itself. Put on 4 or so layers of clearcoat, then add your stickers, then put on a couple more layers of clear coat.

RE: Raptor 50 Titan Discussion

I have tried using plastic primer, plastic adhesion promoter, plastic bumper primer, but none of them seem to work as good as just sanding it down, cleaning the canopy good, and applying the paint...

RE: Raptor 50 Titan Discussion

I can't remember which one's I have tried, but many of the clear coats, even automotive clear coats, will eventually become sticky. I just sand the canopy with 400 grit sandpaper, clean, put a couple...

RE: Raptor 50 Titan Discussion

If your gloss coat isn't nitro fuel proof, then after about 10 tanks of fuel your clear coat will become very tacky-sticky and will eventually ruin the paint underneath. Try using Top Flight clear...

RE: Raptor 50 Titan Discussion

Good to know heli craig. I have no experince with those servo's, as they are just a little slow for my liking. But they should get the job done. I prefer Futaba 9252's.

RE: Raptor 50 Titan Discussion

If those are JR's DS821 servo's, you might want to consider upgrading as soon as you can afford it. Judging by your upgrades, I think you can afford it. Those servo's are notorious for failure on...

RE: Raptor 50 Titan Discussion

Max running temp should be 220 deg. Fahrenheit, with average temps around 190-200.

I only use OS #8 plugs. Never had a problem with them.

As for your swashplate angles, you want to try to...

RE: Raptor 50 Titan Discussion

OS engine manufacturer says that 17,000 rpm is where the max HP is for the 50 hyper engine. If you are running 8.5 gear ratio on your titan, that is 2000rpm headspeed. If you are running the optional...

RE: Raptor 50 Titan Discussion

RE: Raptor 50 Titan Discussion

I dont know a whole lot about electrics. But i would think that you wouldn't want to spin the blades much over 2200 rpm, but i dont know that for sure. That just seems like a lot of force on them...

RE: Raptor 50 Titan Discussion

Assuming you have a gear ratio of 8.5, for a nice stable hover with easy handling, try 1500 rpm. If you are going to be doing a little forward flight, 1500 is ok, but you can try 1600 as well. That...
