RE: UMS Evolution Radial Care and Operation

Hi Lars! Sorry ,no video yet.

I would'nt worry about wearing out the engine ,it is more plausible that a crash will kill it than run time;)

RE: UMS Evolution Radial Care and Operation

I also think the 7-35 will be to small to fly a 8 kg plane , it has just enough power to fly my 175cm wingspan pitts ,at around 6 kg (i am not sure about the weight)

Edit: i checked the spec's...

RE: UMS Evolution Radial Care and Operation

I had to use a hair dryer to warm up the engine to start it ,because it was so cold here , -3 celsius.

Had no chance to get it started without warming , but it might also be because i used "fat"...

RE: UMS Evolution Radial Care and Operation

RE: UMS Evolution Radial Care and Operation

I have been looking on the UT 7-35 for a while ,thinking of maybe putting it on my Pitts Python. Is it as good running as the 7-70 ? does it run and idle fine without glow power ?

RE: UMS Evolution Radial Care and Operation

Sounds great!
I found a place where i can purchase pure methanol, but it is directly from the raffinery in a 200 litre barrel as lowest quantity... a little much. I would have had fuel for the rest...

RE: UMS Evolution Radial Care and Operation

Can these UMS radials be run well on regular 15/15 fuel? here in Norway it is impossible to buy pure methanol.. I have been considering a 7-70 but need to run it on regular 15/15 fuel.

RE: UMS Evolution Radial Care and Operation

This is an interesting topic! I have one question regarding those engines, i have read that the 7-70 run fine without glow support, what is it with this engine that makes it so reliable without glow?...
