RE: Here's A Simple & FREE First Foam Build Plan! (Part 2)

http://www.wattflyer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=60219 has a thread along liquid sheeting you might want to try out. It seems easy enough to apply.

And yeah, right in line with your concept...

RE: Here's A Simple & FREE First Foam Build Plan! (Part 2)

That's horrible news to hear about your finger Critterhunter. I hope it recovers, and in spite of it all, you are being positive about it. Thanks for the compliment on the plane as well. I was...

Bash your planes for little or no money

I'm seeing this place slowly die and fall into obscurity in short order. It's a sign of the times, people have no money for hobbies any more, they are barely struggling for the basics, and it seems...

RE: Here's A Simple & FREE First Foam Build Plan! (Part 2)

You can try it with those booms without reinforcment, adding some plastic strapping to the sides of them would be reccomended, or the arrow shafts if you want to spend a bit, either or. Have fun...

RE: Beginner

The main thing is to have your plane set up perfectly, trimmed out perfectly, so that it will fly straight, not gain a whole lot of altitude, but it's not going to require in flight maintenance, ie,...

RE: Here's A Simple & FREE First Foam Build Plan! (Part 2)

Who hoo, success! I had a run in with a small tree, and a little fine tuning to get it working, mainly trying to trim 3 feet off of the ground since I did the initial tests in a super small area, as...

RE: Here's A Simple & FREE First Foam Build Plan! (Part 2)

I did the final test glides on this bird, it can handle a heavy payload while still remaining slow as hell.

Along home brewing the bread yeast is far more forgiving, had my turbo yeast out for a...

RE: Here's A Simple & FREE First Foam Build Plan! (Part 2)

Critter, know that you hold the true treasure in your heart and nobody can inherit nor take that away from you.

I finally put in some more work on my plane. I hooked up the servo's , did the...

RE: Here's A Simple & FREE First Foam Build Plan! (Part 2)

Critterhunter, so sorry to hear about your holiday's, my story is similar, losing my brother due to his need for greed, and he's into crazy new age beliefs to boot, which with the ones he's adopted,...

RE: Here's A Simple & FREE First Foam Build Plan! (Part 2)

Really nice looking plane Critterhunter. I can't wait to hear of the flight report. Stuff like this, you just cannot justify buying the ARF or Kit, this looks way nicer. I'm sure it's going to be...

RE: Here's A Simple & FREE First Foam Build Plan! (Part 2)

Well, if you follow along here, it's a couple of rc plane buddies, more like online brothers, sharing our lives as this legacy of a thread has gone on. I think we've covered a ton of non rc tangents...

RE: Here's A Simple & FREE First Foam Build Plan! (Part 2)

I tried my first batches, just after fermentation using the bread yeast, and yeah, not so good, but waited a week and 1/2 longer, was the best I had, yet I did pasteurize it and added some sugar...

RE: Here's A Simple & FREE First Foam Build Plan! (Part 2)

Those big batches are what can make you worry if things aren't going perfectly. I ran into a similar thing on this current batch of cider. I'm brewing it in the trailer now, so the temps aren't as...

RE: Here's A Simple & FREE First Foam Build Plan! (Part 2)

You can always cut the bolts off, drill and tap new threads into it if you have the equipment. CA is not waterproof, so soaking it for a day or so might also break it down enough to get the nuts...

RE: Here's A Simple & FREE First Foam Build Plan! (Part 2)

One my later batches, it was the first time I used the tablets, I boiled the water with them, which dissolved them, let it get to room temperature, and used the water to mix up with the frozen juice....

RE: Here's A Simple & FREE First Foam Build Plan! (Part 2)

Critterhunter, I think the dihedral is plenty for a tail feather controlled bird. I've done them too dramatic and they got so tossed around by the wind.

With the first batch of cider, it was...

RE: Here's A Simple & FREE First Foam Build Plan! (Part 2)

My brother has a massive custom built pro brewery, he makes an extensive amount of beer, wine and cider. He uses only bread yeast, 100% of the time.

RE: Here's A Simple & FREE First Foam Build Plan! (Part 2)

Critterhunter, I haven't purchased carbon fiber anything in years. My material of choice for stiffening these up are pilfered plastic strapping. You can usually find it in the waste bin at Home...

RE: Here's A Simple & FREE First Foam Build Plan! (Part 2)

Looks good critterhunter. Am winding down for the eve with a glass of cider. I think I'm digging the cider more then the wine, so may opt to take some spins in that area after the next batch is...

RE: Here's A Simple & FREE First Foam Build Plan! (Part 2)

Well, topics tend to mesh here, as in the original was about simply building a plane from scratch using only cheap and/or free stuff you can find locally. Saves money in this process significantly,...

RE: Here's A Simple & FREE First Foam Build Plan! (Part 2)

Also wanted to show a comical view of the spoils of my first little experiment. You see how the color changes, it was originally much darker juice, you couldn't see through it, now it's far...
