RE: GWS E-Starter... motor/esc/rcvr Questions

I have to agree with you about the gws directions overall.

Though they "do the job".. they DO leave out alot of basic information that could make the build ALOT easier for the "first-time...

RE: Which Beginners Electric RC Airplane

I also agree that you should get a supercub! Excellent 3 channel trainer!!

Then after you get bored with that... get a gws E-Starter.. (4 channel trainer).. also an awesome trainer!!

RE: 20 Amp ESC with Lipo

Not to steal the thread... but I had a question in the same catagory.

I have an E-starter with the EPS-400 ("D" gear) drive. I'm running a 20A ESC and a 3cell (11.1V) 2200mah Li-Po rated at 16C....

RE: Axi or Hacker?

I've been using AXI 2808 series motors for the past few months, and I love them. They're extremely efficient and they have plenty of power.

I've used plenty of Himax motors.... also a great...

RE: GWS E-Starter... motor/esc/rcvr Questions

Actually.. we weren't on the topic of slowsticks. We're talking about E-starters. Both made by GWS though. As for looking for an RTF SlowStick setup... try looking around here, in the classifieds...

RE: GWS E-Starter... motor/esc/rcvr Questions

So I got my GWS floats in the other day. You weren't kidding about the design being "patience-testing", lol. Too bad they don't just mke it a one piece float set.

Once I started taking...

RE: ESC + Receiver + Controller setup help

Oh.... one other thing.

MAKE SURE YOUR BATTERY IS COMPLETELY CHARGED!!

ESC's have an LVC (low voltage cut-off). If your batteries voltage drops below the ESC's LVC... it won't start the...

RE: ESC + Receiver + Controller setup help

If you mean the motor wires that are connected to your ESC being one color.... that's no big deal. The only thing switching those wires will do, is reverse the spin direction of your motors. Best...

RE: ESC + Receiver + Controller setup help

Try asking on www.rcgroups.com

Not knocking this site at all, as it's great! But, I notice you get answers much much faster there, than you do here.

I'd take a crack at answering your...

RE: Hobbyzone Super Cub Landing strip

The SuperCub is a great plane. And you can upgrade to a brushless motor later on as well, and many other add-on's also. As for the runway... the biggest concern to focus on, is how big of an area you...

RE: GWS E-Starter... motor/esc/rcvr Questions

Well, I test started it with the C-20 ESC, and everything works just fine. I ran the motor for a good minute straight, and the ESC wasn't even warm to the touch. I don't plan on letting the battery...

RE: GWS E-Starter... motor/esc/rcvr Questions

Ok.... my E-Starter is flight ready. Everything is installed and ready to go. BUT... before I plug in the battery.. I had one question.

I have the stock EPS-400 and i'm using an Electrifly C-20...

RE: GWS E-Starter... motor/esc/rcvr Questions

Ok, I should have my floats in by monday. There in the traveling process from Tower's warehouse as we speak. :)

So once I get these things put together... I set the "step" a 1/2" behind the CG...

RE: GWS E-Starter... motor/esc/rcvr Questions

On an added note:

I did do one modifacation to my E-Starter. I heard that the tail section of the fuse often ends up snapping in a good crash, so I took two small shishcabob skewers, and cut out...

Here are the pictures of my E-Starter. Yeah... she has a strong resemblance to a J-3 Cub after I decided not to go with the original white look and decals, lmao. I purposely painter her yellow and...

RE: GWS E-Starter... motor/esc/rcvr Questions

Oh, i'm well aware that the GWS floats perfectly fit both the E-Starter and the Beaver models straight from the factory... but if I epoxy the whole front landing gear to the mount, that pretty much...

RE: GWS E-Starter... motor/esc/rcvr Questions

Well that's good news then! :) I'll be happy as long as she can get off the ground and give me 5 to 10 "full battery length" flights on the stock motor setup. I have an AXI 2808/24 and Jeti 30A...

I have a question regarding my E-Starter...

I just built it about 2 weeks ago, and building was pretty basic. I didn't have any problems anyhow. But my concern is this....

I used standard...
