RE: Falcon 40 (Exceed heli) Forum

it does have reverse polarity protection.... so I wonder what it was that cause the problem with the charger to make it smoke.

RE: Falcon 40 (Exceed heli) Forum

you may also want to consider brushless. The two heli's use the same motors, and if you get the one you want for the blade, you can put it on this heli as well =)

RE: Falcon 40 (Exceed heli) Forum

you may want to check the batteries in the Tx, when they get low the heli can do things like that for seemingly no reason =)

RE: Falcon 40 (Exceed heli) Forum

the higher the C rating, just the more expensive the pack will be. Honestly to get any flight duration you're gona need atleast a 500mAh pack, and the F40 takes an average of 4 to 5 amps, max...

RE: Falcon 40 (Exceed heli) Forum

lol, that's a good one =)

hehe yeah you'll defiantely have to turn the gain down a good deal, that's too bad it took 3 sets of blades to get it mostly adjusted. The n30's should have 8 teeth on...

RE: Falcon 40 (Exceed heli) Forum

actually none of these motors are rated for a 3s lipo =) even the mains. They are rated for 7.2v I believe, and that is why they wear out so quickly. They'll work just fine though, just wont last...

RE: Falcon 40 (Exceed heli) Forum

yeah, no prob =)

I would agree with michael on the 11.1, overall it's not really recommended, but you should be fine doing it especially if you put the fuses in. 7.5A for the main and 2A for...

RE: Falcon 40 (Exceed heli) Forum

yeah, the stock pack weighs in something like 88g is what someone said before, so 84 or 85g sounds right on the money to me.

As far as the low flight times, sounds like you've already got that...

RE: Falcon 40 (Exceed heli) Forum

yup, that's the one I was talking about. You'll have to get a jst end and solder it on (don't get just the end, get the wire leads, it's so much easier that way, they run about $3 bucks from a...

RE: Falcon 40 (Exceed heli) Forum

yeah, if they are the stock packs and they have 100 cycles each on them, then yup, they are probably gone.

you may want to look at getting some lipo's, something around 1200 to 1300mAh 2s lipo's...

RE: Falcon 40 (Exceed heli) Forum

yup, no prob =)

It's 1 cell low, and a bit bigger so it's gona be a bit heavier, so it may have a hard time getting off the ground, but by all means if it fits in the heli and will get it off of...

RE: Falcon 40 (Exceed heli) Forum

also check the tail motor, that can draw alot of amps if it's failing.

If you can make a homemade ammeter with your DMM and a male and female JSt connector and see what kinds of amps the heli is...

RE: Falcon 40 (Exceed heli) Forum

you can figure out what page the post would have been on also, the current # is 30, and the previous used to be 25 I think, so just take the old page number, and divide it by 1.2, and that should get...

RE: Falcon 40 (Exceed heli) Forum

the Tx and Rx should swap out fine, just the main problem is the FET's, the cx2 has 7313's only rated at 6A cont each if they are sunk, the main motor on the falcon could easily draw 8A or more in...

RE: Falcon 40 (Exceed heli) Forum

hopefully this will clear it up for you.

store NiCD's and NiMH's at whatever voltage you want, lipo's are at 50% cap or about 3.8 to 3.85v per cell. NiCd's have "memory" but that's really mroe...
