RE: Top Flite Cessna 310 posted

Rob, as far as your concern about a flameout, just get a twinsync and fly it like a singe! I had three flights on my twin Comanche before it went into a deathspiral due to a flameout. I rebuilt it...

RE: Top Flite Cessna 310 posted

Mark, I think we are going to school on the Comanche and that will help when it comes time to maiden the 310. Need to keep more power into the flare out like you did on the first landing a few weeks...

Run a two bladed prop on the 70's for the first few flights. I have three bladed props on the Comanche because i am overpowered as is.

Mark, have you thought about leaving the cowls off until you really decide on which engines you will be using. There are a few of us who do fly cowl-less. He he.

Graupners do pull better. I think they are liquid filled.

RE: Top Flite Cessna 310 posted

The engine in the edge was just rebuilt by Horizon, so it's still in break-in mode. Next time step up to the flightline and you can take the sticks. I thought the field would start to clear out a bit...

You can use the magnets that came with the unit if you wish to place them on the spinners. I mounted mine in the hubs.

RE: Top Flite Cessna 310 posted

I would think the 70's would work with two bladed props. You may have noticed I am running three blades to tone it down a bit. The magnets are a piece if cake, just make sure you have the diametric...

Mark, those are the Surpass 70's that I had on my 13lb Seneca. I never did weigh the Comanche, but it is definately lighter than the Seneca.

Mark, if you need a place to work, I can make room in my hangar! When I bought my house I told my wife it needs to have a large garage. After all, I will be living out there!

Wingspan is 77". I like them a bit bigger, my RCM Piper Seneca was 82" and flew great with the same engines until it met it's demise.

RE: Top Flite Cessna 310 posted

Yup, Stafford twin Comanche. I made a few mods due to the fact the kit was designed decades ago. Added servos for each aileron and moved the rudder and elevator servos to the tail. Running two...

RE: Top Flite Cessna 310 posted

Mark, I got one more flight in after you left. A little more tweaking on the elevator mix, but no more engine tweaking with the twinsync.
