I had a problem getting my 18ss to fire up for a while now, the story so far.

replaced head/heat sink with purple hpi varient due to threads to seat glow plug cross threading

Thanks Joe,

you where right I had left a shim on the underside of the old head, now the pull start is back to normal or it would be if the engine would start.
I am getting the odd popping...

Hi Guys,

I need some help, month or so ago I stripped the threads on the head of my 18ss, I fitted a replacments head the Hpi Purple one with built in underhead and now the engine will not start...

I have tried to get hold of a new underhead but there is not one available it comes
as a single peice £35.00 +postage...

Hi 46u

My Fuel tank split right down the length of one side front end closest to the front.
front knuckle cracked, now replaced with alloy varient.

I too spen time checking each aprt...

just had a look on the Jespares site and as with the others I have checked they had underheads for the t15 .21 but nothing listed for the .18ss

any ideas anybody??

Hi Lewis,

I havent striped the heads, the threads in the heatsink that the glow plug screws into have now gone leaving a threadless head I;E no threads to secure the glow plug.

Yes its on the same side as the exhaust mount, I will try and glue it back up while I wait for a new one to arrive

Hi,

Just noticed a large crack running right down one end of the fuel tank on my MT2 18ss,
only used it a handfull of times is this a common weak point or a random fail.
