A JR receiver will not work with a Hitec transmitter. A Hitec receiver that is made to be compatible with a JR transmitter will work.

Do you mean from one transmitter? If so, then as long as the receiver is Hitec compatible, then yes.

Were the lights flashing slowly or fast? If slowly, that could be an indication of a power problem. If fast, it is being put into bind mode somehow.
