RE: Wrongway Saito

Sounds like the exhaust is loaded with fuel to me. My 56 on my Clipped Wing Cub didn't want to run the right direction one day. I spent nearly an hour trying to get it to run and it usually fires up...

RE: Hangar 9 80

I have both versions. The old 80" with the one piece wing and the new one with the two piece wing. I assume you have the one with the two piece wing. Mine came with an Evolution 46 because it was the...

RE: World Models (Airborne Models) Japanese ZERO EP

I hear you. I have a hard time leaving Grave's without something be it used or new. I have gone in there just to look around and come out with planes, engines, etc. I stopped by there on my way back...

RE: PZ T-28 ESC Problem, Warranty?

Agreed. I really like dealing with Horizon Hobby. I had a Hangar 9 plug and play Cub that came with an Evolution 46 on it and it wouldn't run right. It was right before the warranty on the engine was...

RE: Maxford PT-17 Stearman

That's a really nice looking plane. I wonder if my old Saito open rocker 30 would fly it.

RE: what motor comboq?

I hope I didn't come across as being too harsh. I just thought you might get better results under electric stuff.

RE: what motor comboq?

I believe this is the electric to glow forum for electric planes converted to glow not glow to electric. There might be a section on glow to electric conversions in the electric plane section.

RE: H9 Cub 40

That really looks good. I know what you mean about bearing problems. I picked up a used Saito 56 off of the auction site and the description said it was in great shape and " a nice choice for your...

RE: What do you think for my second plane.. (J-3 Cub)

I have a total of four Cubs, a World Models Clipped Wing Cub 48 with a Saito 56, a World Models Clipped Wing Cub EP that I converted to brushless and lipo and two Hangar 9 Cubs, the original 80" Cub...

RE: which do you prefer tail dragger or a trike style

I have both and like either one. I will say that I think touch and go's are easier tricycle gear. Maybe I just need more practice with tail draggers since all but two of my eighteen planes are...

RE: Thunder Tiger GP.42

I have one and I think it's a .40 cu in. I have had mine for about 11 or 12 years and have never had any problems with it. It hasn't seen a whole lot of fuel as I took several years off but it is now...

RE: Found lost plane!!!

Very cool. What kind of camera is that. It seems to take very good video. I picked up one of those key chain cameras off of the bay and it leaves a little to be desired. Mine freezes up at times and...

RE: Saito FA-30 open rocker engine

I think the "F" plug may be a little long and hit the piston but don't know for sure you may have to check. I think I have a regular 2 cycle plug in mine. As far as fuel goes I think you'll be fine....

RE: Saito FA-30 open rocker engine

Hey Texas, I picked one of these up last year on the Bay super cheap but it was seized. Turns out that it had been run on fuel with castor oil in it and it was just gummy from the residue. I cleaned...

RE: Hangar 9 cub

No problem Bob. The one nice thing about the engine being mounted the way it is is that the exhaust fits in the cutout. My Saito is an older one with the curved pipe and the long skinny muffler but...

RE: Hangar 9 cub

Hey Bob, here are a couple of pics of my H-9 PnP Cub with a Saito 72 in it. Since mine was the Plug and Play version and came with an engine installed I just used the mount the way it was. The...

RE: Evolution 46 shuts off randomly

Clockwise to lean it out on the low and high speed needles. You may have to remove the limiters to adjust the needles. I had one doing the same thing you describe. Mine came in a Hangar 9 PNP Cub 40...

RE: Hangar 9 Cub ARF 40

I have the PNP version but it has a Saito 72 in it now. I love the way the this thing flies. On the maiden flight the engine quit about 50 up, dead sticked it no problem. One thing you might want to...

RE: Superstar Electric to Glow

Well it flies and it flies great. I have to put a little down thrust in the engine to solve the climbing excessively under power issue and I have to adjust the ailerons but other than that a really...

RE: Superstar Electric to Glow

O.k. time for an update. With everything installed the plane was so tail heavy it was going to take almost 6oz. of lead on the very tip of both sides of the fuselage. Instead of adding a bunch of...

Here are a couple more of mine. Both are World Models, the red one is the Clipped Wing 48 and the yellow and black one is the Clipped Wing EP.
