RE: S.M.A.L.L. Fun Fly

"My summary would be - enjoy the times you have with others, people are not around forever. Relationships are one of the most, if not the most, fulfilling and enjoyable aspects of life."

Well put,...

RE: S.M.A.L.L. Fun Fly

Woohoo! Thanks, Floyd. I'll try to get it built and bring it to next year's event. I'd love for us to try to get a handful of TD .010s in the air at the same time.

RE: S.M.A.L.L. Fun Fly

$20 well spent, Dale! My son is now hooked on the hobby, wants to join AMA, and return with me next year with some planes of his own.

RE: S.M.A.L.L. Fun Fly

Thanks, Brian. Floyd offered to send me a set of plans hereworked to make the Scoots an .010-sized plane. I'd like to throw another plane or two together for the tiny TDs for the next SMALL. I think...

RE: S.M.A.L.L. Fun Fly

I would have loved a t-shirt of the event but I guess they didn't have any made this year. I spent this evening cleaning up my modeling stuff, packing it all back into the right cubby holes and...

RE: S.M.A.L.L. Fun Fly

My son, Nick, attended with me and had a blast. He wants to go back with me next year with a plane or two of his own, although he seems more interested in those little EDF thingys that were buzzing...

RE: S.M.A.L.L. Fun Fly

What, me worry? They flew 3 of these at a time and it was a bit surreal to watch.

RE: S.M.A.L.L. Fun Fly

The perils of free-flight. It was a shame as it was a beautiful plane.

RE: S.M.A.L.L. Fun Fly

What could possibly be cuter than a throttled TD .010?

RE: S.M.A.L.L. Fun Fly

Another shot of Ralph's radial engined Eindecker. That's him in the right corner working feverishly.

RE: S.M.A.L.L. Fun Fly

Chris of Aerial Locomotion was there with lots of his 1/2A and electric kit prototypes. He had an unused TD .049 in his stash of stuff for sale and it's now mine. I hope to have it mounted on a new...

RE: S.M.A.L.L. Fun Fly

It wasn't exactly a low calorie weekend. A caterer brought in grilled pork tenderloin on Saturday evening after the brief award ceremony.

RE: S.M.A.L.L. Fun Fly

I finally worked up the nerve to fly my El Pongito late Saturday evening. The tiniest of TDs really moves this thing around. It has plenty of heart attack built into it. It was it's 3rd outing and...

RE: S.M.A.L.L. Fun Fly

Not 1/2A but simply amazing! This little BD-5 is a one-of-a-kind and flies as great as it looks. It was flown up and down the field with great accuracy many times during the weekend when the winds...

RE: S.M.A.L.L. Fun Fly

I be done seen about everything when I see a TD .049 powered twin autogyro fly. That alone was worth the long drive.

RE: S.M.A.L.L. Fun Fly

My LaStick. Until this weekend I had never seen anyone else fly or even run a TD .010. There's something comforting about knowing that I'm not the only one suffering fromthis sickness.</p>

RE: S.M.A.L.L. Fun Fly

Not 1/2A but definitely worth a look. The indoor event on Friday night was enjoyable. I was almost ashamed to fly my Parkzone Ember around with all the neat custom creations there.

RE: S.M.A.L.L. Fun Fly

Ralph's 5-cylinder radial. He's an interesting man with a deep understanding of things mechanical. I enjoyed conversing with him at dinner Friday night.

RE: S.M.A.L.L. Fun Fly

RE: S.M.A.L.L. Fun Fly

Did someone request more pics? I took tons but they are big files and I can only post 1 at a time sooo I'll try to keep them limited loosely to 1/2A stuff.

Can't remember the name of this plane's...

RE: S.M.A.L.L. Fun Fly

Thomas B. He worked like a mad scientist all weekend prepping and flying about 300 planes. He flew his TD.020 Wedge that was flown at the original SMALL 19 years ago. It was fun to watch the...
