I guess we are lucky also. My son and I love the way our DB flies. About 300 flights on it. Built it completely stock with a Rossi Speed 13 in it. Checked on radar at 143 mph. Flies like it's on...

RE: Dirty Birdy ARF

Paul, What ball links are you using on the throttle and mixture controls at the engine end? How are they connected to the cables?

RE: Dirty Birdy ARF

RE: Dirty Birdy ARF

Nick and I flew our DirtyBirdy this evening after working on it all weekend. It flys great. Only got one flight in because of a lighting storm coming in.

We ended up using our OS .61 RE...

RE: Dirty Birdy ARF

Mark, We are coming to the Chicagoland Classic at FVAC for sure. Already have the motel reservations. I really appreciate your offer to loan us your carb and backplate. If we can't get the...

RE: Dirty Birdy ARF

Does anyone here know what to do with the fuel pump on the OS .61 RF when I am not going to use the pump because it is bad? I am going to use a Perry Pump. Can I remove the OS pump from the...

RE: Dirty Birdy ARF

Well, Dave P.
Looks like I may not be running the OS 61 FR RE in my Dirty Birdy after-all. When running the engine today while adjusting the length of the pipe the engine started running poorly...

RE: Dirty Birdy ARF

Looks to me like removing the two front formers takes out the support for the retract nose wheel mounting rails.

I recieved the Hayes 16 oz tank today and it appears to me that it will work...

RE: Dirty Birdy ARF

Here are pictures of the Fuji 16 oz water bottle in my Dirty Birdy. It is a tight fit but I believe it will work if the Hayes 16 oz tank doesn't fit. I show it slide in to the front former or slide...

RE: Dirty Birdy ARF

I was able to get a 16 oz Fuji water bottle in the DB and have room left for receiver and batteries. I'll send a picture tonight. I am at band practice right now (Ache'n Back Old Time String Band)....

RE: Dirty Birdy ARF

David, I just ordered a Hayes 16 oz tank from Tower Hobbies. Stock # LXK836. I think it will fit in the DB but not completely forward in the nose. I will be using an OS .61RF with pump so I can...

RE: Dirty Birdy ARF

It appears that I will not be able to shorten the nose cowl if I use the OS RF 61 Rear Exhaust. The backplate pump causes the engine to mount a little farther forward. The length of the cowl is...

RE: Dirty Birdy ARF

WOW ! ! ! Just received my Great Planes Dirty Birdy. All I can say about the ARF is that the quality is exceptional. I have found nothing that needs criticized. It appears to be a very fast and...

RE: Dirty Birdy ARF

Greg,
I have not received my Dirty Birdy yet, but I am thinking of doing as you mentioned. Cutting the formers in the nose to allow a larger fuel tank. I intend to use a 16 oz tank (Hayes or...

Hi Dave and Chris, My son, Nick, has the DB on order. Plan to stick our new NovaRossi .60 in it. Hope it gets here in time for Rusty's Chicago CP meet in May. I'll have my Saturn going for...
