RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

L8again,

Just a quick FYI: When you go fly your SC, you might want to bring some extra washers and nuts just in case your thrust angle got moved when you repaired your cowl. Mine seemed to be...

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

Eastcoast,

Cool idea about the cowl. I've beat mine badly, too, so I'm going to find a way to fix it. I've already soldered it, but it still looks a bit clumsy.

Man, I hope they fix that...

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

Thanks! I think I'll set mine to that, too. The ones on the far out don't really give it that much throw in the first place... but I know what you mean about not wanting to get too acrobatic with it....

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

Eastcoast,

Nice video! I like the paint job on your SC. Hey, is that a stock cowl that you painted, or is it some sort of upgrade? I'm tired of mine breaking every time!

Now on to everyone...

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

Hey, I got my plane to fly again -- I only had to add a couple of washers to the left of the motor mount, and I was back in business! Yay! :D

Man, this whole thrust-angle thing was scary... :)

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

Cool, I'll have to try that -- thanks for the tip! My cowl is pretty busted right now, so I can try fixing it that way, or otherwise I'll just get a new one. :)

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

Nice plane! Yeah, I'm those are the ones I was looking at, and I'll probably get the 1-inch wheel, too. How'd you attach it?

Thanks for the pics!

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

What kind of wheel setup do you folks use? I'm thinking about going to the 2 3/4-inch wheels, but another thing that irks me sometimes is how bent the wheel shaft can get. Is there a better option...

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

Yeah, that sounds good. Or you could just order a small female Tamiya and put it on your charger, that really shouldn't be hard to do... I wonder if you'd even need to solder that in. Just take out...

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

I can't find the 979. Are you talking about the 977, or the 989? If you are, take a look at Hobby Lobby. They're having a sale for 20 percent off everything in stock, so you should be able to get a...

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

Chancefind,

Yeah, do take a look at it... if your plane is not acting funny, everything's probably fine, but it's still nice to know that you can at least fix it now better than later...

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

Cool, I actually used Gorilla Glue, I think it'll work (I actually came very close to going to get some epoxy glue. Let's see how it works. I think it will definitely be stable, but I'm still not...

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

Nebukatnizar,

Those are some great batteries -- and don't worry about the "upgrade" part of it. Do consider, however, going to the eigh-cell packs, you might enjoy those better. And yes, small...

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

I'm having some firewall/motor mount problems. It seems the firewall is cracked — and I learned it the hard way, since the plane kept not wanting to straighten out after a turn and was having a...

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

Yeah, I've checked your site. Good job! Now, do all those props fit right in without having to use a special spinner or anything like that?

Good idea about the CF. I might try that!

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

What should I do about the whole "upgrade" part of the batteries? Should I get it?
