RE: Help an RC idiot

Thanks for the help. That's what I was afraid of, but I was really being super-optimistic and hoping it was just a loose slipper clutch (if that's even possible). It's good to have a starting point...

Help an RC idiot

Hey guys, I was out bashing with a friend this weekend when my 'Pede started to give out on me. I let my friend use my wife's Ruckus, and I was trying to show off a little by taking monster jumps...

RE: Inherited Cars

From what I've seen, I would never expect to get a clear-cut, hands-down "favorite" from multiple people. Somebody will always swear by one brand/model, and the next person will insult that and tell...

RE: Great new use for RC Truck

Ahh, thanks for the rundown. My dog is terrified of my electric monster trucks, but he's too curious to leave them alone. He'll sniff them and check them out as long as they're just sitting there,...

RE: Great new use for RC Truck

Is it just my computer, or is there nothing there?

RE: Lets See your workshop

Nice shop!! I especially like the stool that looks like a motorcycle saddle. My workspace consists of a folding table in a corner of the basement with a car stand and a few hand tools/spare parts...

RE: Strictly Bashing

Just as a precautionary measure. The truck can take a beating, but it's never a bad idea to have a little insurance. The stock bumper is non-existant. TBR products have a life-time guarantee as...

RE: Strictly Bashing

I recently bought an ECX (Electrix) Ruckus to bash around with. It's dirt cheap, surprisingly quick, and tough as nails. I would most definitely get a T-Bone Racing front bumper for it though!

RE: My top 22 rules of RC

Nice thread. The cheekiness is subtle. I always like when people make their own lists and see who agrees/disagrees and why. I know practically nothing about the hobby even though I've had pretty...

RE: Backyard obstacle course

Like I said, unfortunately my wife didn't get any good video, but here are a few still shots. (Her timing with the camera was off yesterday.)

RE: First truck for Son

When the LVC on her Ruckus kicks in and interferes, I usually put the pack in my Stampede and get several more minutes of good run time out of it. Once it slows down to an undesirable level, I...

RE: First truck for Son

I couldn't tell you what the LVC is, but it seems to cut off while the battery still has plenty of life left, IMO...that's probably my biggest complaint with my wife's Ruckus so far. It makes...

RE: Backyard obstacle course

Good call. That will definitely help when winter rolls around! You know, if that whole global warming thing doesn't kick in.

I got to test it out a little last night, but my wife didn't catch...

RE: Backyard obstacle course

I finally got my ramp put together. You can see the end of the screws sticking through the top side of the ramp, so I still need to grind those off. The chain is to keep it from collapsing once a...

RE: Looking for feedback on a Track Design

Foxy, what do you mean by sweeper? Sorry for the dumb question...sadly, I've never spent any time around a track.

RE: Backyard obstacle course

Technically (and luckily), the A-arm didn't really break. The screw pin that holds the wheel to the arm somehow just slipped out, so the wheel was dangling by the camber link. All I had to do was...

I also just posted an update after a couple test runs, and they held up surprisingly well! I had a blast, and these should offer a lot of fun for at least a little while.

Backyard obstacle course

Sorry guys, I posted this original thread in the Traxxas forum without paying attention, but maybe some other folks would be interested too! Anyway, I was trying to come up with affordable, homemade...
