RE: "OFFICIAL"Redcat Racing 1/8th BUGGY thread (not truck thread)

Just having a yak to my mates on the forum. Sorry [:-] Not too many redcat posts on here anymore, just a few nitro heads swapping yarns. We have all owned, or still do own Redcats, so if you do want...

RE: "OFFICIAL"Redcat Racing 1/8th BUGGY thread (not truck thread)

Hi Jas and co - Well guys I made a big decision today - going to sell my truggy to make way for new toys. Over the last couple of race meetings I have decided that the buggy is the way to go for me...

Hey, you have a good memory Jas !!!! I had forgotten about that little saga [&o] Then there was the lady that tried to back over my on-roader while reversing out of her driveway, and the Bazooka vs...

RE: "OFFICIAL"Redcat Racing 1/8th BUGGY thread (not truck thread)

There is a bond amongst firefighters all around the world. It's the same for most emergency service personal, and millitary too. Sort of a "brotherhood" thing going on ;) Cheers Swamp3r - your...

RE: "OFFICIAL"Redcat Racing 1/8th BUGGY thread (not truck thread)

Jas - I'm still here mate. Yes a sad day indeed. I worked with the guy who was killed some years ago, and have a good mate who recently transferred from my station in hospital in a serious but stable...

RE: "OFFICIAL"Redcat Racing 1/8th BUGGY thread (not truck thread)

Yep, like Jas says. Unless it's making funny noises (clicking etc) there is no way of knowing when or if it's going to fail. If you suspect it might be faulty, or on the way out, I would replace it....

RE: "OFFICIAL"Redcat Racing 1/8th BUGGY thread (not truck thread)

Yeah - that's the trouble with the bigger motors when you are racing. You need one more pit stop than the .21's, so loose any time you made on the field. All the truggies racing here run .21's with...

RE: "OFFICIAL"Redcat Racing 1/8th BUGGY thread (not truck thread)

Hi everyone.
Kbohm1 - don't go too overboard on the alloy bits mate. Alloy tends to only bend when you hit things, which leads to serious stress in other places. The plastics are designed to take...

RE: "OFFICIAL"Redcat Racing 1/8th BUGGY thread (not truck thread)

Picked up a cool "wedge" body for my on-roader today, from our local auction site. It is a Frewer Racing Lola body (see pic). Don't know what colours I will paint it yet, but I am thinking bright -...

RE: "OFFICIAL"Redcat Racing 1/8th BUGGY thread (not truck thread)

A few light showers will be ok TTR. With the body on all the electrics should be well protected fron light rain. If it gets too heavy racing becomes impracticl anyway.
If the track gets wet and...

RE: "OFFICIAL"Redcat Racing 1/8th BUGGY thread (not truck thread)

Hi StephenW, Changing the pipe can make a huge difference in performance if you pick the right pipe. The JP series are wonderful pipes. I would be tempted to try the JP-3 pipe, as it is designed as...

RE: "OFFICIAL"Redcat Racing 1/8th BUGGY thread (not truck thread)

RE: "OFFICIAL"Redcat Racing 1/8th BUGGY thread (not truck thread)

OK. The stock tyres on my Vision lasted about 4 days of abuse. The foams were actually cheaper than getting original GS stock tyres and they last heaps longer. If you want to hang it out, get some 42...

RE: "OFFICIAL"Redcat Racing 1/8th BUGGY thread (not truck thread)

Hey firebird78 - check your servo saver and make sure it is not done up too tight. You shouldn't be killing servos all the time, that can become expensive in a hurry.
Yeah - those tyres don't last...

RE: "OFFICIAL"Redcat Racing 1/8th BUGGY thread (not truck thread)

Hi everyone, bit quite here lately.
Frank_514, I agree with TTR, looks like you ran over something sharp there. If the tyres are wearing unevenly you may need to adjust the rear camber links to set...
