I have about a 1/2 gallon run on an OS GT33. Balanced at the wing tube which is about 5" back. Seems to be about right. Amazing plane and will do more than I'm capable.

Anyone know what material the cowl on 3d hobbies model 540's are made of? Going to reinforce the cutouts for engine. I'm thinking Epoxy.

I agree-hate to see another RC specific engine MFG go. I have one-32cc EI and it starts and runs like a dream. Not a 3-D engine but perfect for Warbirds. I like the rear exhaust-don't know anyone...

I originally built the wing the way the plans called out but the look was totally wrong. I made a jig using a Rib demension and Laminated the tips with 1/16 balsa. Had to replace all four-URG!!

Not trying to change your mind but I just built the Hog and bought a cowl from Fiberglass Specialties-If you mount the engine inverted it works and hides everything-Food for thought

If you have been off for awhile, go with the easiest Kit first. Then the Hog Bipe (just cause I finished one). Nice shop, be sure to add plenty of lighting. Glad to see another fellow dedicate a shop...

Carefull-engines are subject to opinion, so heres mine-OS is first choice, the 40 and 46 Pros are fine also, forget the other cheaper engines. Besides your spending all that time building a plane...

I don't have any data, but the quality wood and APC props do pull harder than MAS. I use those on smallish engines and APC on mid size, Wood on all larger scale.
