RE: Mamba max 5700 or 7700

The 7700 runs too hot IMO. I've even heard the touring car guys complaining that the 7700 gets too hot. Get the 5700. You'll be glad you did. The 5700 is no slouch either. It pushes my Stampede to 40...

RE: OFFICIAL BRUSHLESS PEDE THREAD

Those are actually tied onto the body clips to make pulling them off easier. They're made of small zip ties and fuel tubing.

Here's an article that shows how to make them:

RE: OFFICIAL BRUSHLESS PEDE THREAD

I think the Velineon has a 9-cell nimh limit, but you can use a 3s lipo (I haven't figured that one out yet), and the Mamba Max has a 12-cell nimh/3s lipo limit (for 4600kV and 5700kV versions). The...

RE: What's the cut-off voltage for a 9.9V 3s A123?

Ok, good to hear. Thanks snellemin. I'll be using the 3s primarily so I'll try the 6V cut-off. I won't be using my 6-cell IB4200 pack much any more, lol.:D

RE: What's the cut-off voltage for a 9.9V 3s A123?

Thanks for the quick help Bob. I'm guessing that since I drive an r/c Monster truck that a 6V cut-off would be fine since I would notice it slowing down before it actually goes down to 6V? Since you...

What's the cut-off voltage for a 9.9V 3s A123?

Hi! I have a Mamba Max ESC that has the ability for the user to set the cut-off voltage for lithium batteries. My question is... Since A123's are rated at 6.6V for 2s, and 9.9V for 3s, it fools the...

RE: OFFICIAL BRUSHLESS PEDE THREAD

I've got the patience for it because I sure as hell ain't gonna over-heat a $200+ brushless system. Ha-ha!;) It took a while to find the right esc settings, and the best gear ratio for my driving...

RE: OFFICIAL BRUSHLESS PEDE THREAD

Update! I installed an Integy heatsink on the motor and lowered my gearing a bit to 16/90. Also, I disabled the drag brake and raised the punch control to 100%. I did 20 straight minutes of WOT speed...

RE: Question about Tower Hobbies item description

I wonder why it said that they were matched cells in the description, then soon after I made this post, they "mysteriously" changed the description to un-matched cells? Hmmm.... Either way,...

RE: Glitching help

Does your new motor have at least two capacitors on it? You could try moving the receiver farther away from the esc and motor wires. Also move your antenna location away too. Lastly, check your...

RE: tamiya hornet price

Yeah, I think they're the same except for the esc. They might have made a few improvements, but nothing drastic. I had the older Hornet with the msc, a aftermarket aluminum front shock tower, Race...

RE: Stampede motor upgrade

You'll get wheelies on demand and longer run times with that motor and gearing. If you want a little more speed for parking lot bashing, just slap on a 17t pinion. ;) You'll like that motor. Just be...

RE: Stampede motor upgrade

I have a Team Orion Formula SV2 Pro BB 17x2 motor. It is ALOT faster than the 20T Stinger, and the difference in torque puts the Stinger to shame. You'll get wheelies on demand with this motor. I've...

RE: Which Should I Choose?

If you want the simplicity of plug and play, get the rustler. If you like tuning engines, the smell of burning fuel, and the sound of a nitro engine obeying your throttle finger's every command, get...

RE: Question about Tower Hobbies item description

I'm loving this SMC IB4200 6-cell battery.:D There's a major difference in acceleration and speed compared to my SMC IB3600 6-cell. Like 5-6 mph more on the top end, and waaaay more torque![8D]

RE: Question about Tower Hobbies item description

Yep. Should be ok. Just don't let it get too hot. If you can't hold it in your hand for 4-5 seconds, that's too hot.

RE: Official Mamba Max Thread!!!!!!

I set my esc settings a little differently today and got lower motor temps. I was getting 193 dF motor temps from my CM36s 5700 motor on a 6-cell IB3600 while geared 16/86 after 15 minutes. After the...

RE: Question about Tower Hobbies item description

Yes, nimh's drain themselves at a very slow rate even when they're not in use. I re-peak mine the day after I fully charge them to warm them up for a run. Warm cells pack more punch and acceleration,...

RE: Question about Tower Hobbies item description

My IB4200 came in the mail today. It had like 4.4V in it when I plugged it into my charger. I finally got it to hold a complete charge after a slow charge/de-charge cycle. I charged it at 3A at...

RE: Official Mamba Max Thread!!!!!!

The thing is, I don't have any 90t spurs. Just an 86t. That sucks. I'll just do what I can, when I can. I might hit up the parking lot closer to dark, so the temps won't be as bad. They have big...

RE: Official Mamba Max Thread!!!!!!

Thanks for the link. I think I saw one of those on Tower. I'll have to wait until I make another order though. Looks like my only option for now is to stop the run when the motor gets to 190, let it...

RE: Official Mamba Max Thread!!!!!!

Thanks for the help chopndroptx. I guess I might try a heat-sink with a fan on the motor because I don't have 70$ for an aluminum tranny case. Where'd you get your heat-sink & fan? Tower?

RE: Official Mamba Max Thread!!!!!!

Hey, I'm wondering if I could get some help here? I'm running an XL-5 Stampede with a MM5700 BL system. I have a slight overheating problem with my 5700 motor. I use 16/86 gearing with the stock...
