Here are some thoughts that may help with your starts, they are based on my experience wit an MW54 as I have yet to start the 44.

Propane/Butane Mix burns at a higher temperature...

You should cut the aerial lead on the receiver by an amount equal to the length of the whip antenna. The aerial on a receiver is a tuned length, if you increase it, or coil up the surpus, it could...
