RE: Spektrum DX-7

Surely there's some other pointless semantic argument you can have. Do you also take advertisers to task because the pictures of people in the ads have them smiling, and it doesn't make you happy...

RE: Spektrum DX-7

I'm with Aerobob on this one, I'd bet money we see it at Toledo.

RE: Spektrum DX-7

Set up your high rate deflection mechanically, using the servo arm and control horns. Doing it electronically limits the resolution of the servo. Then use your dual rate to set your low rates.

RE: Spektrum DX-7

Sure, it unplugs like any other radio. There isn't a diode in the radio, so you can charge or discharge through the charge port using your triton without removing it.

RE: Spektrum DX-7

No it's not, if it failsafes, the throttle goes to idle and all the other surfaces hold their last position. Planes will crash, and things will happen with a 2.4ghz system or a 72mhz. People blame...

RE: Spektrum DX-7

Mine work fine, haven't had any problems with any of the ones in my group of friends, despite the amount of punishment they get being flown indoors (we hit a lot of stuff, and each other). That page...

RE: Spektrum DX-7

Of course they are, they came in at my LHS nearly a month ago, same time as the AR7000s. In my group of friends there's 4 in use, and I assure you, we don't have any kind of special hook up.

RE: Spektrum DX-7

Sure, you can swap receivers around, but you will need to rebind them when you do.

RE: Spektrum DX-7

They are basically identical, same switches, same software. The difference is in the labels, what the software defaults to on a new model, and if the throttle is smooth or notchy. However, they come...

RE: Spektrum DX-7

Sweet, I guess sarcasm is lost on you. If you quoted the next few words, I think it would have been obvious. You have the same problem as the other guy, read one sentence in a 50+ page thread and...

RE: Spektrum DX-7

The people who told you that are wrong, you have to buy a specific DX7 for helis and a specific one for planes. If you don't, the plane will instantly crash. That's why they have the listings for...

RE: Spektrum DX-7

Judging from the thread, I don't think these come with instructions anymore, just a radio in a box.

RE: Spektrum DX-7

Yup, all JR radios use + values to soften the response on expo. Look at the manual.

RE: Spektrum DX-7

I just went through the 3 AR7000s I bought (hadn't opened the boxes until this question came up), and none of them have binding plugs. The AR6100 I bought did. All were from the initial shipment.

You can go up to 9v on the AR7000.

RE: Spektrum DX-7

Well, at this point, XPS doesn't exist, so the only choice is DX7. However, assuming that in 4-6 weeks he doesn't have another 4-6 week delay (we've got to be on the 4th or 5th one of those), then...

RE: Spektrum DX-7

If I were a dealer, I'd try to steer you into a $300 more expensive radio, too! You can use other chargers with the DX7, I use my Triton, and it works fine. The radio has no idea what is plugged into...

RE: Spektrum DX-7

Well, we'll see, I just went out and tried the Katana I have an RX installed in, it's been in the garage for 2 days, and it's been below zero last night, and hasn't gotten above 10 today. It works...

RE: Spektrum DX-7

I"m going to leave mine out in the garage tonight with a receiver, it's supposed to be in the single digits tonight. We'll see how it does tomorrow morning.

RE: Spektrum DX-7

Now THAT'S a good question. How did you even think to ask that? I'm guessing you must have read the manual much better than I did.

RE: Spektrum DX-7

They've always advertised the ar6000 as having two receivers in the one box. The reason for the 2 seperate boxes on the AR7000 is to get the receivers apart so they are exposed to different signals...
