Yea what he said. I would avoid VX engines. SH engines are good quality. Traxxas are a solid "good" if, you get a good one and its not a 3.3, (but if your 3.3 breaks in well it should be ok properly...

I think a lot of us have had similar experiences over the years. It explains the shock of losing our best source of rings. My OS46SF went from almost no compression to an ABC level with a Bowman ring.

ASP is also Sanye and Magnum for the most part , they made engines for others to put their own brand name on. OS made in Japan until just recently didnt make them for anyone else as far as I know....
