RE: THE Official Traxxas E-REVO Thread

They need to be the same cells. Same mah, C rating, and brand. If they aren't, one pack could run out of juice before the other one and get over-discharged. If they aren't the same c rating, you...

RE: THE Official Traxxas E-REVO Thread

You could get a set of old used emaxx/tmaxx tires for cheap. They look like they would do ok in sand. That would be a cheap option. Don't know about paddles though... I'd just try to make my own. ...

RE: THE Official Traxxas E-REVO Thread

The brushless e-revo should be good on snow, dew etc., but I would stay out of puddles and make sure to dry it off as soon as you can when you get done. The MMM on the Brushless e-revo is water...

RE: THE Official Traxxas E-REVO Thread

Well, it's true. Compared to LiPo packs that is. The good thing about a123s are the cycle life and saftey. LiPo is catching up on the cycle life though.....

But I think a123s are better for...

RE: THE Official Traxxas E-REVO Thread

I can give you probably over 15 experiences of puffed maxamps packs due to overrated cells and un-matched cells. Look over at RCM...

RE: THE Official Traxxas E-REVO Thread

All maxamps packs are like that. One guy got a pack with two 4200 cells and four 4000mah cells. They take random cells and throw them together into a pack without testing or matching the cells.

RE: THE Official Traxxas E-REVO Thread

No, anything maxamps is crap. The new packs aren't only overpriced, but they are using untested cells and their usual [not] matching technique. The constructions is probably horrid too. I'd stay...

RE: THE Official Traxxas E-REVO Thread

Hard to tell from a description, but your gears could have worn/broken a tooth or two off causing the noises. You'll have to make the call yourself and look closely at the gears and spin them around...

RE: THE Official Traxxas E-REVO Thread

Oh,you don't need to send it to me if youre in Iraq. That's too far. A servo I've had good luck with is the $8 HXT 12kg servo from hobbycity. They ship from china btw...

Take a picture of the servo. It worked before you cut the wire, right?

RE: THE Official Traxxas E-REVO Thread

Don't the traxxas diffs have something like that too?

Patrick, you can send your dead servo to me. I like dead servos...;)

RE: THE Official Traxxas E-REVO Thread

I had a similar problem in my crt .5; but it was more of a clicking sound. Make sure the grub screw that's used to fill the diff up is all the way in. It could be rubbing on the case.

RE: THE Official Traxxas E-REVO Thread

Higest c rating you can find, 5000mah 3s lipos. Flightmax 5000mah 30c 3s lipos would be a great choice. Not sure about the turnigy lipos though... They might be better or worse.. time will tell. ...

RE: THE Official Traxxas E-REVO Thread

Gear lower, thats about all you can do. If you can disable the bec on the esc and run an external bec, that would probably help a lot too. Then consider adding a fan. I would get better...

RE: THE Official Traxxas E-REVO Thread

Jesus, that must run pretty hot... Make sure you have thermal grease/heatsink compound between your heatsink and motor. What batteries are you running?

Did you switch two of your bullet plugs...

RE: THE Official Traxxas E-REVO Thread

I got my revo used and the chassis was dyed when I got it.  You'll need one balancer to balance the two packs in any configuration.  If you hook up one balancer to each pack, you may have all the...

RE: THE Official Traxxas E-REVO Thread

It's a Medusa 36-60-2000 with a rc-m heatsink/clamp.  It's not a bigmaxximum or anything crazy like that...  It's a great motor however, HIGHLY recommend it.

J-boy, your camera should have a macro function on it.  It's a picture of a flower in a pot and it's found on most digitals.</p>
