RE: Super New

I know you're anxious, but stay home when it's windy! My brother-in-law lost his trainer last week when he couldn't control it in the wind.

RE: Super New

It's easy to spend other people's money and recommend buying another plane (yes, I've been guilty of doing this in the past as well).

Sicarius, you might want to ask at A&J Hobbies or other...

RE: Super New

Hi...

First off, read the instructions! They will tell you how to launch your plane.

I am not familiar with that model, but I do have a HZ SuperCub and here's what I do when I hand launch-...

RE: need someone to train me

Agreed with the rest... even if you do find somebody to train you, that's not the the right plane to train on.

Save the "cool" aircraft for when you've got some experience, for the time being,...

RE: Aerobird Swift - Crash

My father has a HobbyZone Phantom and recently experienced something similar to this. He claimed he was losing all control once it was in the air, but when we scraped up the pieces and tried the...

RE: Lithium battery disposal - first one

Wow, this is the sort of thing that really makes me totally uninterested in LiPo batteries. I see the value in lightweight and more power, but the extra (safe) handling procedures required and the...

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

I had no issues on my maiden flight with the SC... this after almost totally destroying a parkflyer/trainer that wasn't quite as easy to fly as they claimed.

Let us know how things go!

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

Very nice, S.C.C!

Once I gain some more skill, I'll take my camcorder out. Should be fun!

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

Where is the CG on the SuperCub? What did you use to add weight and where did you put it?

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

The idea behind using rubber bands is such that they'll stretch and/or break before the wing does... if you used nylon bolts, the rigid mounting would dissipate energy from impact throughout the...

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

3rd time out for me last night. Was happy to take the SC home in one piece, compared to the previous run that took out my wing, cowl, and prop.

I've yet to have a successful ROG due to the...

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

Zestril5, thanks, I might just do that if it's strong enough. Looking forward to flying again tonight!

In two separate and completely avoidable incidents, I came away with the wing broken...

RE: Official Hobby Zone "Super Cub" Thread

Flight #1 for me yesterday evening... the winds were too strong in the field, but thankfully they died down just before sunset so I could get some more controlled flying in. I am very impressed...

I pretty much destroyed my Sky Pilot on it's maiden flight this past weekend, but since it still mostly looks like a plane, I'll fix it...

Can anybody offer some advice on how to make the wing...
