You said you tightened all the bolts on the engine - the chrome hex cups that hold the valve pushrods can be over tightened and cause the lifters to bind.

Without a syringe, I use a piece of air tubing and stick it in the air tool oil bottle and suck on it. You can see the fluid level rising and when you get 6-8 inches of oil in the tubing, just...

I started this thread 4 years ago, in 2010. I received one phone call from Darrell chastising me for the post - sarcastically saying I was costing him money. Just for the record, it has been 4 more...

Take a syringe and put about I/2 ounce of air tool oil into the retract fill valve and cycle the gear a few times. This will lubricate all the O-rings in the entire system and should fix your...

There is no problem with the gap - it needs to be there. If the halves of the hub were touching it would prevent you from applying the proper torque. Just make sure the gap is the same all the way...

For what it's worth, you can pay as much for a 1/4 scale servo as a standard sized servo of equal output - so price is really up to the budget. If your plane will accommodate the additional weight,...

Hello Bruce, I had a 110 inch PBY (loved it) and you may want to re-think the 1 degree of positive incidence on the stab. I fully understand your thinking, but the planes wing will start to fly...

Mirce,

I have a Fuji 86 in mine and did not have to cut any holes. Plenty of power for big loops and vertical stall turns. I think they may have ceased production of this engine though.

Hi Mark,

If you want to use a single fuel feed line, you may want to insure that both legs going to the carbs are of equal length. Fluid dynamics will result in the fuel taking the shorter route....

RE: Galeb G2 - new jet made in Serbia

Hello Mirce,

Beautiful job on the plane, and I hate to nit pick - but the instructions for the Matchbox strongly discourages using the Matchbox further than 12 inches from the receiver. It...

RE: Wing Hold Down Bolts Question

Like Jeff said - just use a 1/4 by 20 steel hex head bolt and slide it inside the D. Brown arrow shaft. A small local hardware store will sell these bolts as fully threaded up to 5 inches long. You...

RE: MOKI RADIAL Care and Maintenence

It will swing it, depending on the pitch you set. Comp-ARF has a video of the prototype P-47 (same engine - Moki 250) and it is a screamer. It is 30 inch diameter.

RE: 8'WS PBY-5 Vintage Plans Robert Sweitzer

I had a 110 inch Nomad for many years, and loved that plane. It had a little different step and fuse bottom, but looked just like a Catalina in the water and in the air. Most of the Nomads were...

RE: 3W Bearcat Build - Oh Yeah!

You might want to check out Bob Violett wheels. He has several nose wheels that work nice on the big warbirds as tail wheels.

RE: YELLOW AT-6 TEXAN BUILD THREAD

Very pretty scheme - nice job ! If you are holding any up elevator when the wheels touch, it will bounce back into the air. The trick is to release all up elevator the instant the wheels touch and...

RE: Meister Scale P 47 - step by step

Hello Mirce,

Here is what I use, and it saves a channel on your TX. I slave it to the flaps. Flaps up - lights off, flaps down - lights on. You do not need another switch as everything is...

RE: Robart retracts for Ziroli P 38

Hi Mirce,

Yes, the two stage stiffness is normal. The softer spring absorbs the softer loads of taxi-ing and take offs. The second spring is for those less than perfect landings.

RE: Retract Air Pump

I agree with Sam - the Slime compressor works great. Mine is 5 years old and all I had to do was change the battery once. The guage is accurate and it pumps quickly.

RE: Restoring my Ziroli DC-3 to an AC-47 Gunship

For what it is worth, I too use fully threaded rods to make short pushrods. After everything is sized and correct, I measure, cut, and slip a 1/8 inch (ID) carbon fiber tube over the exposed threads...

RE: ARF calls for a 2C 160, will a 26cc do it?

5,600 grams = 12.32 pounds. You will probably need nose weight, so a larger engine would give you a safety margin over the 26cc
