RE: Top Flite Nobler ??

Sparkee Boy,

I've actually had two FX's and now the AX in my Nobler and never had a problem with any of them. And I always use regular OS #8 glow plugs in my FX motors. It sounds like yours is...

RE: Top Flite Nobler ??

Scavok,

There are several problems with the supplied landing gear: 1) they don't provide enough ground clearance for an 11" prop, 2) they are set too far back so the plane wants to nose over...

RE: Top Flite Nobler ??

There is a picture of my Nobler in my gallery. It is still flying and has held up extremely well.

Top Flite Nobler ??

I agree with Bill that it would be a whole lot easier to start fresh, but the conversion of an existing plane would be an interesting project for someone up to the task. I have an old C/L version...

Top Flite Nobler ??

Smallglow-

I have not tried a conversion but I'll thow out some thoughts... The fuse on the C/L version is much lighter than the R/C plane but the wing size/design is almost identical. The trick...

Top Flite Nobler ??

I've got at least 25 flights on my Nobler now and have it pretty well "tweaked in" to my liking. A 46FX or something equivalent is needed- the plane is pretty heavy and needs a strong power source...

Update on Nobler flight setup

I've only been able to get the Nobler out to the field once since the initial flights. The weekends have been too windy, too wet or both. But for those interested here is an update-

I bent the...

Inorris, if you want to take a closer look you can see larger versions of the detail pics by looking in my gallery... the ABS cowl actually turned out pretty good.

I was thinking and I bet the need for down elevator when inverted is due to trim on the flaps when neutral, which is something we did not play with. If they are out of trim down a few clicks, then...

Top Flite Nobler ??

No I didn't use retracts. I was concerned about the grass field (and my landing ability!) when I bought the kit, and resisted the urge. This is one area I intend to work on. There is very little...

Top Flite Nobler ??

I was going to post some more pics, but RC Universe appears to be having some problems with pictures right now. Maybe later this week. But the real scoop is that this plane actually flies great! I...

Top Flite Nobler ??

I finally have my Nobler ready to go. I actually had everything finished but the covering last November but then decided to take some time out to do another project. It shouldn't be hard to see! ...

Top Flite Nobler ??

Regarding the balance point, I don't know about the old RC Nobler but on the new one the recommended balance range is 3 to 4" from the leading edge where it enters the fuse. This puts the center of...

Top Flite Nobler ??

Nobody so far has said much yet about the build on this plane. I just finished one (ready to cover) and it came out very good. As a reference, I built a bunch of kits years ago, and just recently...

RCPROPSNAPPER,

Keep us informed as you "wring her out"! Did you build it with functional flaps? Coupled or independent servos?

I haven't quite decided how to do mine yet. Would love retracts...

Top Flite Nobler ??

Could someone out there scan and e-mail the Nobler review for me? Or send me a copy? Or tell me how to get one?

I just purchased a Nobler kit and am very interested in the review, but I can't...
