Eagledancer
Thanks for the kind words but I have to admit the Gee Bee has bitten me as well. There are some scrapes on the top of the cowl and fin from a slide down the runway on it's back. I leave...

Can you take a picture of you plane from the front, back and sides. I think it is a dihedral issue.

If you are used to flying an Extra or Yak or any other plane of that type you may be expecting...

RE: Composite-Arf 33% Gee Bee R2 - First Flight - Pics - Videos - L@@K

Hey Guys.
I have found 4 degrees to be good but I think starting out at the proper 4.5 is the way to go as we all have different flying styles.
I have decided to go with the DA 170 and should be...

If the dihedral is not even, you will find yourself constantly trying to trim the airplane with the rudder. The tracking will be constantly changing from left to right.
In one of my earlier threads...

Hey Rickster
When can we get a flight report? I am engine shopping and would like to know how the Moki works out.
It is a toss-up between a DA 200 and a Moki 250.

RE: Composite-Arf 33% Gee Bee R2 - First Flight - Pics - Videos - L@@K

Hey Hannes,
I have done extensive research on cg location and have found 2 7/8" or 73mm back from the leading edge at the root to be the best (safest) location. In the 230 flights I now have on my...

RE: Composite-Arf 33% Gee Bee R2 - First Flight - Pics - Videos - L@@K

Hey Doug,

I have found the best c/g location for me is 2 7/8" back from the L/E at the root. Also, to balance the plane I put a small crew in the senter section just behind the front gear bolt...

RichardGee,

The dummy radial really dresses the Gee Bee up. I have the Bob Dively radial just about ready.

I am trying to decide on the DA 200 or the 170. The 200 is a true powerhouse with...

Fredo,

For all around performance I think the Xoar 28x14 is the best. Nice and quiet with great speed.

What brand of pipes did you use for your DA? I am puting the DA 150 from my Gee Bee in...

Hey Richo,

Welcome.

What are you engine plans?

I have the DA 150 and am very happy with the performance, I may go to the 170 when the 150 gets tired. Right now I have well over 200 flights...

Hey RichardGee,

Sorry to here about the gear problem. I have a cable on mine and it has held up well.

Hey Guys,

Proof that Gee Bee's are loved throughout the world. These were sent to me recently, Frank Tiano somehow ended up with the Japenese magazine and was nice enough to forward it to me.

Great job RichardGee.

The plane tips up on its wing easy, doesn't it? It has bit me a few times also. But nice landing anyway.

Your prop sure does sing when you get into the throttle. That...
