That is a interesting problem. Does the spur gear and clutch bell spin freely? Motor mount broke, clutch bell and spur gear not touching?

Stiffer springs will reduce body roll which will make i turn better. They will also make the truck sit higher on the suspension and it may roll over easier. They are nice for jumping thought...
