OUCH!

Final diagnosis is the battery burned up in flight??

I've never seen that!

What type of battery?

It did look like a great flyer, much like mine.

RE: VQ P-61 CONTRUCTION

There is a short video on www.youtube.com of my VQ-61 flying at last summer's Twin Event, along with Jimmy's ASM-61. Just search for "Mark Taylor P-61"

I feel I must apologize and explain for my...

RE: VQ P-61 CONTRUCTION

OW!

My sympathies.

That 61 is a smooth flyer, but I have occasionally gotten in attitudes down low and slow from which I barely escaped. Firewalled it after a bounce once and saved it by...

RE: VQ P-61 CONTRUCTION

nemesis:

My VQ-61 hasn't even been unwrapped, although I have the engines (Saito 100's), the radio and landing gear for it. Waiting till I crash my Ziroli-61, I guess!

RE: VQ P-61 CONTRUCTION

Congratulations on your award. Obviously, that's because you did a fine job on finish and detail. The P-61 is a natural traffic-stopper at any airfield, even when a lot more worn and rough than...

RE: VQ P-61 CONTRUCTION

Scary P-61 Story:

Last Saturday, I suffered a left engine-out on my Ziroli P-61. Not the engine's (G-62's) fault.. a fuel delivery problem.

I had a little bit of altitude (100'), good...

RE: VQ P-61 CONTRUCTION

samparfitt:

Glad to hear everything went OK.

It just struck me today that my Ziroli-61 has EXACTLY the same trim issue. Although it flies well with the trim adjusted, I spent considerable...

As before, you are doing an AWESOME job of a construction thread. Your photograghy is better than before.

I'm tempted to ask everybody to quit inserting posts so we can use your...

RE: VQ P-61 CONTRUCTION

dad47: I generally use servos with @75 oz for big warbirds. No real science there, I just don't feel comfortable with the 40-50 oz "standards" when I get over .46-size planes. The only plane I ever...

RE: VQ P-61 CONTRUCTION

Thanks TLH101.

I'll re-consider.

Are Saito 100's strong enough for this plane?
