I had this same engine years ago with every intention of flying my 24 pound Mr. Mulligan. However, after extensive bench running, I did not feel it would provide adequate power....

I did not ask for a shipping quote to California, but the person I spoke with said that they DO in fact pack the fuel in quart containers to prevent sky-high shipping costs...

I just spoke with FHS Supply / Red Max fuels; they've been making model fuels since 1969...
You can still order ANY blend your heart desires from FHS.
I asked him about the price of 7%...

NOPE. Just have a GOOD NiCad 4.8v pack. The McD "pulses" the plugs and "fools" them into thinking they are seeing 1.5v... this has to do with the "duty cycle" and is not something you need to worry...

I have used the McDaniels glow drivers on both a Technopower 9 cylinder radial and currently on an O.S. IL-300 inline four. In both installations, the McD drivers worked PERFECT.

The engine looks great and idles really well (as I have seen in a YouTube), but I cannot find any detailed information...
