RE: Honey Bee FP

Thanks, Tinkman.

I think you're right about the receiver. I removed the tail system (motor + boom and wires) and installed the entire tail system from my old HB and the problem with the 4 in 1...

RE: Honey Bee FP

Hello all.

I've been away for a few weeks. A while back I put an upgraded motor on my HBFPv2, but something in the process caused a problem with my 4 in 1. The motor spun wildly out of...

RE: Honey Bee FP

Well, I'm pretty discouraged. I played with the THR switch as Peter suggested, but the 380 motor kicked into high gear again. No matter which position the THR switch was in the motor hit high gear...

RE: Honey Bee FP

OK... I have to keep reminding myself... if it isn't broke... don't fix it. :)

Tonight I thought I'd install my Extreme 380 motor. A couple of things made it more complicated than it should...

RE: Honey Bee FP

Peter, the only thing I can think of regarding unbinding is to make sure your Tx is off when you hold down the button. I think that's correct... Also, when you push the button, can you feel it being...

RE: Honey Bee FP

Thanks, Peter!

I have to say I am pleased with how the hovering is going. I credit time on the simulator, time with my coaxial and trying to follow Radd's directions as closely as possible. ...

RE: Honey Bee FP

Tinkman, I tried out your suggestion and it worked like a charm. The tail is working much more smoothly now that I've adjusted the gain. Thanks again!

RE: Honey Bee FP

Tinkman,

Ah, that's a good idea. I had been playing with the prop, but didn't think to tinker with the gain. I'll give that a try next time my batteries charge up.

RE: Honey Bee FP

Thanks! Now that I look at the replacement main and tail motors I have I see what you mean. I'm glad to see that it isn't as complicated as I thought it might be.

I'll probably pick up the...

RE: Honey Bee FP

Well after a couple of weeks of waiting, I finally got my new, functional, HBFPv2 from xheli. The tail rotor didn't work on the first one they sent me, but this new one seems fine and dandy so far. ...

RE: Honey Bee FP

Thanks, Peter! I actually have the upgrade main motor as well as the DD tail pack waiting in the wings (so to speak). The new HBFPv2 is supposed to arrive the day after tomorrow and I, like you,...

RE: Honey Bee FP

Hey, Peter. That's good advice. I did make sure everything was plugged in. I don't have a multimeter so I couldn't do that part. In the end I decided that I was just tired of dealing with this...

RE: Honey Bee FP

Thanks! Mine didn't work right away, but I did find the directions in the manual related to binding the manual. There's a binding button on the back of the 4 in 1 that you press. Not a big deal.

RE: Honey Bee FP

Hey, all!

Well, after a week of waiting I finally got the replacement 4 in 1 in from xheli for my HBFPv2 (the one that came with it was mal functioning.)

I have it installed, but it...

LOL... those are great stories. I think you're describing one of the things that attracted me to this hobby. For the most part is is all about:

patience, patience, fiddle, fiddle, tinker,...

RE: Honey Bee FP

Tinkman, that's really impressive. Just by the shape of it, and its obviously greater surface area it looks like a better heatsink than the stock ones.

Peter, I took your advice. I unplugged...

RE: Honey Bee FP

Eeek. I wish I could remember how they came from the factory. The guy on the phone had me moving all of them around. My AIL and ELE are UP, DOWN respectively. I had my THR and RUD in UP/DOWN,...

RE: Honey Bee FP

Hey Peter,

They did take me through that. Maybe I'll try it again, though. I figured that while I'm waiting I might as well break in the battery and run in the motor. When I turned it back on...

RE: Honey Bee FP

I've been away for a couple of days so I missed out on the training gear discussion, it looks like. :)

I was going to recommend those hard foam balls you can get at a craft store, but it sounds...

RE: Honey Bee FP

Thanks, Peter. That does make sense. Another option I guess is to solder it right to the wires leading from the ESC to the battery. That way I wouldn't have to plug and unplug the monitor every...

Here's another question, if anyone knows.

I just received this battery monitor for my new Honey Bee arriving next Monday. What confuses me is that I have to solder the wires to the little white...

Hey, Peter!

Thanks for the battery info. I will definitely order 2 new batteries for my Hunter. The 2 I have gave me only 2 minutes and 3 minutes respectively this morning. Several days ago I...

RE: Honey Bee FP

Those are some good flying skills, Peter! I'm happy that I'm getting better at hovering. Once I fly a clearview model far away from me, it's only dumb luck if it makes it back to a safe landing. ...

Good deal. I feel like I'm starting to understand things a bit more. I didn't order any extra stock blades, but I did order 2 sets of the reinforced fiber blades from ushobbysupply. They didn't...

Thanks Peter! I'm looking forward to hearing your report on how the super blades work!

In reference to blades, I came across this thread from another forum. The writer discusses which blades...
